Using the Program
Start up
  • The editor will default to the personal information tab
  • The tool bar at the top contains buttons to open a new file, save a file, get online help, view the readme, check for updates and view the about information
  • Teams are listed in the combobox on the left
  • There are two sets of players in the roster. Set 1 is used for the Ashes game mode, set 2 is used for every other game mode
  • Use the second combobox to select a player from a team
  • The next button will cycle through all the players on a team and onto the next team
Personal
  • There are 173 unlicensed faces in the game (60 black, 60 asian and 53 white) and 51 licensed ones (23 Australian, 23 English and 5 umpires)
  • Licensed faces give a name in the face combobox. Unlicensed ones give a number
  • Face and skin combine to create the face. Arm refers to the skin colour of the arm not the face
  • The team field has been left totally editable. This will affect the nationality filter in the squads tab but seems to have no effect ingame
  • Gear is assigned using the combo boxes on the right
Skills
  • Move the sliders to change the batting, bowling and fielding skills
  • Skill points are shown as negative or positive depending on whether skill has been increased beyond the level allocated for that player
  • The indicators on the right show how close players are to achieving a skill point boost ingame
  • The overall ratings change dynamically based on the individual skill levels
Stats
  • The combobox above the statistics allows the user to select ODI, T20 or test stats
  • Changes are made by editing the textboxes and pressing save
  • Save must be pressed before changing between stat types is data has been edited
  • The grayed out boxes are calculated dynamically based on other fields and cannot be directly edited
  • High score and Best Bowling Innings are written in text form: i.e. 203* or 3 for 16. When a player is yet to bat or bowl YTB is used
  • NaN indicates that the field cannot be calculated as the batter has not been out or the bowler has not taken any wicket etc
  • If editing stats for licensed players, change them to licensed to avoid roster errors.
Squads
  • All the teams selectable in the game are listed in a combobox. To see the squad and lineup, select the team required
  • Squads contain 23 players. The first 11 names, indicated by a line, make up the playing XI
  • The listbox on the right contains all the players in the game. They can be filtered by nationality and set to narrow them down
  • Players are removed from a squad when selected using the right arrow
  • Players are added to a squad when selected by usin the left arrow
  • The up and down arrows allow for the lineup to be rearranged
  • Default captain and keeper are chosen from the available players in the combo boxes on the left hand side
Known Issues
Maidens do not appear ingame
Gear, faces and names cannot be edited for save games
Stats can be edited for licensed players even though this can corrupt the roster
Planned Features
  • Multiple Skills batch editing
  • Import/Export players
  • Previews for faces
