It's so weird the academy is still seriously borked imho.
What I did was download all Wastes C22 bats independently then download Wastes county teams separately. The bats were grand and applied correctly to the players.
Maybe If you have the bat in your bat manager the game will allocate it...
Has anyone done a career with an existing player? If so, is it just the same as a normal career but skipping the club nonsense?
I'm thinking of doing a redemption arc type career for someone released by the counties this winter.
I've had to retrain myself to naturally play back to spin unless it's really full. That helps avoid this but yeah it's an obvious bug, irrespective of whether you're playing the shot early or late the game should respond to the direction you push the sticks.
Having the difference between lofted and ground shots be an aggressive flick vs a soft flick doesn't seem like the best option IMHO.
Chip shot notwithstanding, Option 3 to me looks the most intuitive but I don't mind the controls as they are.
It's a shame so little love has been be shown towards career mode, it's always been my go to mode in BA games but after so many iterations the lack of progression in it just feels lazy.
All about those sweet sweet licenses now.
Superb test match. Periods of wondering where a wicket would come from when Jaiswal and Rohit were batting and genuinely thought I was going to lose when Rahul and Ashwin were comfortably knocking the spinners around. 2nd new ball made all the difference in the end.
Shared all but 3 of the county teams. 3 wouldn't share, some error unable to find a playface or other such nonsense.
Tbh it took me so fecking long to do I just wanted to play the game so I haven't shared international teams.
All obviously based on Wastes C22 teams.
I reskilled county and international teams. The basis I went on was young/squad county players overall 65-69, county pros 70-75, international players 75-80 and world class players (few and far between) 80-85.
Completely agree on this. I started a career mode last week and after a season I'm honestly bored already with the lack of progression. What I'd love to see instead is expanded county squads and you start as an 18yo playing 2nd xi cricket, maybe drip fed into certain comps etc instead of...
From what I can see there's little consistency to it. Most licensed players you can only edit the bat, a few you can edit everything and one or two you can't edit anything at all (ie Abrar Ahmed).
I've downloaded Wastes county teams and I've decided to bite the bullet and reskill them, move players around, assign missing bats etc
Could someone do me a massive favour and list all of the batting stances/bowling actions please? I might as well add a bit of variety there while I'm at it.
Yes and yes. I thought it was a combination of my fat thumbs and a turning pitch but it's happened a few times where I think I'm defending straight but the player defends almost to midwicket and I get bowled.
I should have qualified this a bit better, I meant it should be easy for BA to fix. I'm like you, I'll go in and edit where I can but as you say, it's such an immersion breaker when you have a decent playface, accurate bat but Edward Sausagehands at the crease.
