For the first and only time in the tournament, Guyana's powerful batting lineup was put to the test. Following half-centuries at the top from skipper Leon Johnson and ageless veteran Shivnarine Chanderpaul, they went from 122/2 to 233 all out. The American bowling attack led by former Jamaican tearaway Jermaine Lawson and supported by several journeymen residing in the States used 7 different bowlers, all of whom managed to pick a wicket during Guyana's innings.

If not for Fahad Babar's momentary brain fade in the penultimate over of the match, the Americans might have actually won. Nonetheless, it was a splendid effort on their part to push the previously untouchable Guyanese outfit to their limits. The latter emerged victorious yet again despite not looking anywhere close to their best to finish the tournament unbeaten. No matter what they did in the competition, there just wasn't any beating them.
Keith Barker, who led the wicket-taking charts of the competition with an awe-inspiring 12 wickets from only 4 matches at an average of 8.75, while conceding at just 2.92 runs per over - was duly named Player of the Tournament. His Guyanese team-mate Shivnarine Chanderpaul, who led the batting charts of the tournament at the age of 43, pushed him close with 254 runs at an average of 63.50, scoring as many as 3 half-centuries from only 4 innings.
That spells the end of another 2019 Cricket World Cup qualification tournament - the three teams to qualify from the Americas NSC region are
