United
United reserves
FC United (keep an eye out for the result) - might start going to a few matches in a couple of years when United aren't playing.

So yeah, I support my local team.

Didn't know you used to live in Hyde Joe? Played for Hyde United juniors for a couple of years.

Why do you hate United m_vaughan? Neither Real Madrid or any of the other 6 clubs you support are proper rivals so I'm struggling to understand why, especially when we haven't tried to tap up one of your best players. I would say ABU but that might get Matthew paranoid.;)

I always have a look at there results, and they are not doing too good at all.

Don't you watch Hyde United Phil?

Haha yeh I never played for them though, they're pretty good aren't they. Don't city ressies play there. (who we spanked the other day though. MASSIVE win.)

Well you can say no but because my dad was from harlow and spurs are pretty big there i support them. I also follow bury towns results and Watch a few of their games. Were in the 4th qualifying round of the fa cup one of first round proper on saturday. Come on you blues!

Na, they've not started this season amazingly, but you can't really ask for more than 3 promotions in 3 years.

Na, I went to see a couple of games about 3 years back, cos playing for the junior team meant I got a free season ticket.

Not sure about City's ressies, up until about 2 years ago, United ressies played there for a while, moved to Northwich Victoria since then though.

Brilliant mate, we are still in the Fa Cup, we got Belper town on Sat :)

I don't support my local team (Maidstone United) I've only lived in Maidstone for about 5 years so have no real connection to the town. I don't follow the team from my home town either, they play in the Kent League Premier Division currently, that's level 9 on the pyramid structure. Never been interested in watching football at that level, I just don't like football that much.

4-1 to Bury against Basingstoke were into the first round proper for the second time in our history.Come on you blues.
Droylsden drew 0-0.

Well done mate :)

We hope to see you there...

Our game was a tale of 2 halfs, first half it was all Droylsden, we some how managed to miss from 1 yard out (Don't ask me how because I was cheering thinking it was in!) then second half it was all Belper.

So now, the Derby V Stalybridge is off on Monday and we have an FA Cup Replay at Belper Town. Greatt...

I do support my local side(Barnet). I follow thier results and have been to two matches. I also go to Underhill to watch Arsenal Reserves play. I pass the ground every day going to school.

I hate United because when I started watching English Football everyone seemed to be a United fan, and it started to get annoying, almost like a growing disease. Obviously should Man Utd ever face Atletico or Barca, I'll be supporting them. I would not say ABU, because I do hate the two clubs mentioned far more than United.

I support my local football team, Mohun Bagan. There are two local team tbh East Bengal and Mohun Bagan but i support MB

Mohun Bagan have absolutely no class. East Bengal rocks!! Sunil Chettri rocks!!

There's nothing wrong with having a particular liking for another club, but it's when people start saying that they support several clubs equally were I start to disagree with it. I for example support Everton obviously but i've always had a soft spot for Wigan and other northern teams such as Preston, Accrington and Chester, as well as fellow scousers Tranmere. As far as other nations go, everyone has their preferred team from another country. Mine would be the likes of Celtic, Barca, Hamburg, PSV etc etc.

Some of it boils down to the players that teams have. For example, I grew up watching Barcelona with Rivaldo at the peak of his powers so I naturally used to enjoy watching Barca play on Sky. A similar story with Celtic when they had Larsson and I used to look out for Ajax when they had Van der Vaart and then Hamburg when he moved to them. But I hate Real Madrid so that's that.

I agree with that. I only support Man Utd, they're the only team I've ever supported. There are teams I enjoy watching, such as Barca (awesome last night), but then it's always fun to see another team get a tonking! My parents always used to enjoy watching Utd the most, my dad wasn't a real supporter per se; he liked it when they won, but it didn't matter to him as much as it does to me; I actually injured my shoulder during a '99 celebration when that Ole goal went in and it hasn't been the same ever since!!

I've posted a poll, and everyone knows my opinions on this subject looking no further than my picture.

One of the reasons I hate Man U so much is because there are so many people in Australia who go for them just because they're really good, or for stupider reasons (one of my friends goes for them because 'my dad went for manchester city').

In the AFL though, I support my football club, Geelong, who are actually an hour's drive from Melbourne, because my grandfather lived not far away in Ballarat when he first moved to Australia. Ever since then, my entire extended family has remained loyal Geelong supporters, through thick and thin, and a lot of heartbreak. That's true team spirit, family connections, local teams, things that are becoming increasingly rare in the sporting world.

There are more United fans in Manchester than City fans, thats what matters, of course people from other countries are going to support United, thats because unfortunately success breeds gloryhunters.

You can't just hate United if you don't know the second thing about them or football in general.

I also really don't like the term "went for";).

I support me local team wholeheartedly, go to every home game and will try to make the away games when my Dad is going. It's my life, soul and blood, I can't imagine my life without them, and this may sound clichéd, but no matter how shit they get, or how shit they are I will keep going. Nearly all people I know from the world of soccer are involved with City, I know all the players and I know all the people involved in running it.

I don't have a problem supporting a Premiershit team if their local, but I don't you get the same sense of community in supporting a Prem team that you do when you support a smaller local team.

PS. For those of you that have Setanta, please try to tune into the start of the Setanta Cup final tomorrow, it kicks off at 7:30 pm (GMT) and is on Setanta Ireland & 2. There will be a bit of a display put on and it'll show what the eircom league is all about
