The pace of Jeff Thomson complementing the almost similarly quick Lillee was badly missed by the Australians who could do next to nothing regarding Barry Richards, despite trying out no fewer than 8 different bowlers.180 overs was a hell of a long time spent on the field and their batsmen were visibly exhausted by the time their second innings came around.
It was South Africa's second innings victory in three games, all of which they've won by completely obliterating their opposition.

West Indies didn't do much wrong except run into Don Bradman at his invincible best on a very flat wicket. Bradman's 277 eclipsed Herschelle Gibbs' 250* in the inaugural season as the highest score in the league's history. He could well have gone on to make the first ever triple century of the tournament but for his exhaustion and newfound love of clearing short boundaries.
Bill Johnston's 10-fer was completely eclipsed by Bradman's knock. His wickets spurred terrible collapses in both of West Indies. They lost 7/61 after being in a very good position in their first innings, and then 6/10 in the second innings which ended the game.

-X-The margin of victory didn't do justice to the thrilling nature of this match, with twists and turns at almost every corner.
The Legends XI started the match brilliantly with KS Ranjitsinhji and Andrew Stoddart ruthlessly dominating the South African bowlers. Then came a disastrous collapse where they lost their last 6 wickets for just 53 runs. Their total was still a pretty good 379.
South Africa replied with an iron fist, with Graeme Smith and Hashim Amla getting big hundreds while the rest of their top six contributed with catchy fifties. Their total of 587 was big enough to guarantee a draw or a victory. A second innings implosion by the Legends XI brought about the latter.
Jack Blackham could hold his head (and beard) proud in defeat after an awesome performance with the gloves. His 7 dismissals which included 2 stumpings was quite comfortably the best ever by a wicket-keeper in the league's 5-season history.

I liked to Richie amongst the runs. He was our one of the last lion hearted batsmen with no fear facing the best of fast bowling with no helmet on. He should ideally bat in the middle order with it being:
#3 Lara
#4 Richardson
#5 Adams/Hooper
#6 Shiv Chanders (because that is his favourite number to bat at)
It will far more balanced if Shiv can be pushed up at #5. Also, if VC allows, I would have had the fiery Jamaican Patrick Patterson in. Ambrose-Walsh-Patterson-Bishop together would have given the best of the batsmen a tough time.

I'll allow the changes, but only for this West Indian team. No other. They look like they badly need it and it is disappointing to see them lose this way. Bring in Patterson, Otis Gibson, Vasbert Drakes or whoever you feel right.

I don't think they've missed any of their good players. They haven't used their best lineup for the first couple of matches, and have underperformed in the last one.

Courtney Browne, Frank Rose, Stuart Williams have been complete duds so far. You could do way with one of the Benjamins too.
