What do I do next?
I am going to start a Test League featuring the 9 Test nations active in 1998/9 plus Bangladesh who I will give Test status to 2 years early.
The games will be simmed using Owzat Games International Cricket run on an Excel helper.
The game is very accurate and after a while Career Averages, Strike Rates and Economy Rates should be spot on.
You might find some players who failed at Test level but did better at ODI or First Class level have had their stats boosted to make them useful so it's worth trying out everyone in your squad to see what they can do.
I will roughly follow the real life Test schedule with some series extended and some series added to the schedule.
I will also add some A tours and tour matches v Board XI's so you can try out extra players.
You will be restricted to players who were active at Test level in 1998/9, or in Bangladesh's case, first class level in 1998/9.
The league will continue beyond 1998/9 if there is sufficient interest, even up to the present if we get that far, with more players becoming available as they made their real life debuts.
For now I want managers to sign up and state the team they would like to manage, I will post each teams available squad in following posts, more to follow...

Thanks. that's awesome, no Cronje! Lol.

Here is the details of your first match, post an XI and I will get it underway:

Bangladesh A v South Africans - 3 day match - at Sylhet - October 1998/9

Pitch: 67 - A damp wicket that is likely to cut up quickly and could offer the bowlers, especially the spinners, a lot of help late in the match. While the wicket stays sound it should play reasonably well, the batsmen are never likely to dominate for long and this could be a low scoring match.
Day 1 Starting Pitch: 5 - Normal Wicket
Day 1 Weather: 1 - Hot and Humid (aids Swing deliveries)

Injuries: None.

Thanks, the Bangladesh A team is already typed into my Excel helper with their ratings, will put your South African team in now then we can start on the match.
Will give updates for every hour of play here on Planet Cricket, an hour of play takes about 10 minutes real time so it will be quite regular.
I like your XI, strong in pace which might be handy in the Humid conditions.

Please choose your XI for the following match bearing in mind the Pitch and Weather conditions and any Injuries you may have:

Pakistan A v Australian XI - 3 day match - at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore - October 1998/9

Pitch: 103 - This looks like a good batting wicket and the batsmen should prosper for at least the first three days. Thereafter the bowlers may begin to get some assistance, with the spinners expected to benefit most.
Day 1 Starting Pitch: 2 - Good Batting Wicket
Day 1 Weather: 2 - Hot and Sunny

Injuries: Imran Farhat - Back trouble, Arshad Khan - Back trouble, Shahid Nazir - Dislocated shoulder
