I know this started as a X box posting, but with regard to the freezing problems TG are trying to fix :
From a PC perspective I got rid of my freezing problem by upgrading my graphics card for a second time !!!
I appreciate that not everybody can afford to do this (or should have to), but I personally feel that the crux of the freezing issue relates to the fact that the minimum specifications required to run this game as issued pre-release were incorrect.
Ashes Cricket 2009 obviously requires graphics oomph to run smoothly and this was probably just not possible with the lower end of the minimum specifications that we were advised could run the game !!
