CricketCrackIt recently launched their Fantasy Cricket product for the 2011 Cricket World Cup and with that they enter into the highly competitive Fantasy Cricket market.

Signing up is a breeze if you have Facebook which unless you are a Bebo loyalist, you will more than likely have. For those that don’t have Facebook, there is the old fashion register page to fill in your details.

Once you have registered you are presented with a graphical interface to pick and modify your team. For those that have played Foxsports Australia Fantasy games or the English Premier League Fantasy competition, then you will be use to this layout. CricketCrackIt is one of the few Fantasy Cricket games which offer a graphical interface.

As you can see in the image below, each player is shown by their countries kit and they have a bat, ball or keeping gloves to indicate the sort of player they are in this game. There are two tabs the graphical view shown below and the data view which is a quick summary of the main stats you are interested in, along with the price of the player.

By clicking the ‘i’ icon you get a list of stats for the player in question. In here you will find the career stats, last year stats and the stats against the current opposition. This means there is no need to go to cricinfo to find out how good your player is, it is right under your fingertips.

For this game you pick 6 Batsmen, 3 All Rounders, 4 Bowlers and 2 Wicket Keepers giving you a total of 15 players just like the World Cup squads. While you are limited to picking this squad, you have the ability to shape your starting 11 with the only limitations being 3 Batsmen, 1 All Rounder, 1 Bowler and the 1 mandatory Wicket Keeper.

You have a budget of 100 million USD to pick your players. You are given 20 free transfers and each additional transfer after this results in a deduction of 4 points. This is a point of difference compared to the other Fantasy Cricket games which only offer you a set amount of transfers but no option to make additional ones at the expense of points.

Once you have picked your 15 and chosen your starting 11, you will notice a star by one of your players. This is your trump player which earns you double points. This is the same as PlanetCricket Fantasy Cricket where you pick a captain.

FB Friends allows you to compete against your Facebook friends to gain bragging rights on who is the better Fantasy Cricket manager. On the right side of the leaderboard you can see your current ranking and the number of teams entered into this competition.

For the Cricket World Cup they are offering a range of prizes. The overall winner of the competition will get the much talked about iPad. To keep those who have a shocking group stage interested they are also given an iTouch to the Knockout stage winner. There is also one for the Group stage if you peak too early. Lastly there are T-Shirts and Caps for the runners ups. You can find more information on the prizes here.

Overall CricketCrackIt appears to be an exciting new game entering the Fantasy Cricket market. There is a lot to like about the game including the interface, comprehensive stats and transfer system.
