For those of you wondering, this is what we English ought to sound like. Miles Jupp is fairly funny - to really appreciate it, you need to understand the British class system.

Very amusing, for stand-up. However, that chap has a posh accent, such as is hopefully dying out. It hasn't been the standard English accent for at least a century (if ever). And lately (well for a generation or so at least) the standard accent has been heading north. I like to think of Hermione Granger's accent (I suppose Emma Watson talks the same but I've never heard her) as the standard educated accent these days. Ultracorrect, ultra-genteel, Midlands.
Personally I like all British accents! Come to think of it, I like most non-British accents as well! I'd hate for any of them to die out. Even posh.
