Being a good football fan

You should pick a team, based mostly upon the colour of their away kit, and then become a member of their fan forum.

Most teams change their away kit every year, so research historical away kits if you can. If you find a few good ones, then you can rest assured that you've picked a well-run football club that you as a fan can really get behind.

Clearly you don't want to support any of those poorly run establishments.
imo you should become a dundee united fan

For the same reasons, this is terrible advice:

INSTEAD, what you want to do is to support a team like one of the following:

Forfar Athletic, modelling a very pleasant away kit.

Hibernians FC, here seen modelling a classy golden number.

This very clean and tidy white number from the mighty Blues.

But whichever one of those teams you choose to support, remember that the most important part of being a good football fan is never to be satisfied. The following are all useful rules:

  • If the club signs too few players, the chairman isn't interested in trying to win.
  • If the club signs too many new players, the chairman is trying to buy the title.
  • If the club puts out a rubbish away kit, they are not worthy of your support any more.

If you follow these simple rules, you too can be a great football fan.

i'm sure being a hibs fan is against the forum rules; and if it isn't it should be - that includes every team with that name, not just the very bad one

Partick Thistle is the best Scottish Football team, because supporting them gets you out of the bad "Rangers or Celtic???" arguments and saying a non-Glasgow team doesn't, and because the fact that they are in the Premier League and Rangers are not really annoys lots of Rangers fans and that is always nice

Looks like a knock off version of Bart Simpson.

don't mock the mascot, he got partick thistle into the sports pages around the world!

or at least, into one edition of sportscenter, after they'd talked about college lacrosse or something stupid. There's also the fact that Mhairi Black, one of the best MPs in the current parliament, is also a Jags fan
