Franklin Jacob took 12 runs off a struggling Nandu Chelackal in the 47th over to bring the deficit into single figures. He was eventually dismissed off the final ball of the over, but the damage was already done. The Muffins were 5 runs away from victory and berth in the Nolan Clarke Challenge Trophy final.

A stroke of ill fortune brought about the Amigos' downfall as a sharply turning offbreak from Mohammad Tauqir went straight past the keeper and all the way to the boundary. It was over! The Hugging Muffins were through to the final of the Nolan Clarke Challenge Trophy to face Landscape, the team that beat them in the Qualifying Final.

This was the end of the road for the Amigos, as far as PCPL V is concerned. They bounced back unbelievably well after the mid-season break to end up in the top three of the List-A competition, despite being placed last in the standings during the first five rounds. It was still not enough to break into the final however.
