TBH , they should blood in either Pant or Shubman Gill for that #5 or 6 slot . Get rid of Pandey especially from the T20Is .

When today was the time for Pandya to come ahead of Dhoni , .............

Raina against good fast bowling is a sitting duck. I don't understand the reason why everyone is looking up to him as the one big hope. KL Rahul is someone who deserves a longer rope in all formats. Also Dhoni playing these meaningless T20Is is pointless. We'd rather test out players in these games than win them 3-0. I dont see what we gain by Kohli and Dhoni playing these games. For the heck of it, I would not mind a left field suggestion like Shubman Gill or Prithvi Shaw getting a chance in these games.

While I've always put up my opinion that Pandey shouldn't be playing T20Is at all and that he should be at #4 or at max. #5 for India in ODIs, neither Pant or Gill are good replacements. They are both openers and having them bat at #5 or #6 will only ruin their batting style.

We can have Kedar in for Pandey in T20s for now as he can play big shots and is a handy bowler as well. The other option is Nitish Rana. He has been in great form in T20s form of late was brilliant in last IPL.

Its also time that Dhoni hang up his boots. He's not the same batsman as he was and T20 being a very fast paced game, it might hurt the team in crucial matches. Lokesh Rahul can fill in that role while Pant is being nurtured for the specialist keeper's role. I still feel Pant is an unfinished product for international cricket at the moment.

I totally agree with you.
I also want to see KL Rahul in all formats

Please no, no Kedar in T20s. We surely have some better talent than him.

I agree with everything except for Shaw and Gill. Shaw is a no no for T20 especially as he is not a big hitter from what I saw in U19. Gill obviously looked really good but not below #4. He is a very exciting prospect and I don't want to see him anything below #4 as he is too good to be batting down the order.

On other note, I wouldn't play Pandey in T20s. Rahul should be given a chance. The only change I would do is bring in Rahul for Pandey. Apart from that, batting looks solid as well as bowling. This is a very balanced side.

You can say the same for Dhawan and Rohit too. The bottom line is that you don't need great technique for LOI. If you can't understand why a lot of people are looking at him as the perfect bloke to bat at 6 and bowl a few overs then you've not followed him closely enough. He plays critical innings in BIG tournaments.

Also, Dhoni needs to retire from T20's. There is absolutely no room for him in this format. On what basis should Gill/Shaw play for the national team? There are a plethora of domestic batsman who've done a lot more to warrant selection even if Kohli shouldn't play which I don't think is right. Why should Kohli not play?

More like Duminy and Behardien.

I dont know what CSA sees in him. He has never ever performed big. The only innings I remember of him, is the one in the 1st T20 against India 2015, cause he drove India to a win, along JP.

I just saw Smuts and Hendricks T20 domestic numbers. Think there are at least if I am not exaggerating, 20 blokes with better numbers in India. Might even be 50.[DOUBLEPOST=1518966778][/DOUBLEPOST]

Miller has been playing international cricket for 5-8 years and still not learnt how to pace an innings. IPL has made all these blokes financially secure and they see no reason to improve.

Raina got out slogging today. And as far as good fast bowling goes, you rarely get that these days in international cricket. And all those talking up for Raina, want him in the lower middle order in ODI's for the World Cup. And when you are batting in such positions, you are basically dealing with fast bowlers bowling mixed up deliveries with a much older ball and its not going to be as threatening as facing up to the new ball. Instead of having guys like Jadhav who rarely get the opportunity to bat, its better to have Raina there where he can cause a lot more damage if he gets the opportunity to bat. And not to forget - his contribution with the ball and his brilliant fielding.

KL Rahul to me is not a middle or lower order player. Rohit, Dhawan and Kohli have basically sealed the top 3 spots leaving no room for anyone else there. And Dhoni needs to be No. 4 or 5. I would rather put my money on Raina and Pandey in ODI's filling up the No. 5 and No.6 spots with Pandya to follow. Raina could've still batted lower today. Wonder what made the management send him at No. 3 when Kohli is the world's best No. 3 right now. Raina at No. 3 will work when we are in the subcontinent. Kohli is a universal No. 3.

I'd love to know about the players who are good enough to take that spot then.

PS: I'm not a supporter of Jadhav.

I really hope AB quits LOI and just plays tests. SA are absolutely hopeless. If India can't win a major series they're my fav team along with may be Pakistan but it's getting painful to support them.

Nah, Miller's good. I'm sure he just had an off day. I'm surprised how Behardien keeps getting chances. He can't bat, can't bowl and isn't even your best fielder. I understand it has to do with quota system there has to be some good non-white players in the ranks who can do a better job than him.
