Ideally, he should play as an opener because it is his preferred position. I remember that he struggled in the early part of his career when he was made to bat in the middle order against WI.
BTW, Fakhar is fielding in place for Babar, so he might play the next match.

I think its a bit of a rotational policy at the moment. Give everyone some time out at Lords.

I think Headingley will be more bowling friendly. Will be interesting to see Abbas there.
Also, it's pretty clear England need different coaches for white and red ball cricket

Great to see Pakistan doing well against England at their home. England failed to take chances in the field during a pretty gutsy first innings by Pakistan. They played well at times, but luck was in their favour as their batting looked gutsy at times and England was just poor in the field. The Pak bowlers have done really well to keep England down.

This partnership is really frustrating. Was hoping Pakistan will wind up ASAP and win by an innings. But this doesn't seem like a case now.
