Recent news updates about Sanju Samson and Shami failing the Yo-Yo test is very weird. I don't know about Shami but Samson did look good in IPL and he hasn't played any cricket after that. This would mean Samson missing out India A tour and Shami missing out Afghanistan tour. Navdeep Saini has got the maiden call to test team. Hardworking pays off. If he hasn't played a single game in IPL (thanks to Kohli), he gets an international call up.

Shami will miss the tour, it's confirmed. Saini has been named as his replacement.
Yep, just read the article. A good opportunity for Saini since he missed out playing for RCB. I'm still surprised he wasn't given a single game ahead of likes Kajroliya etc..

Deepak Chahar is literally continuing from his IPL form, bowling superbly in the two games that India-A have played so far. Hope he keeps his head up. Even if he doesn't play the WC, he can be a long term prospect for India in the league of Bhuvi/Bumrah.

And Prithvi Shaw has also been brilliant in both the games. He had a decent IPL and I expect him to grow with that experience.

Well. Mayank and Prithvi batted really well on what looked like a flat pitch. Gill played an amazing knock too. I am very excited to follow Gill's career more than other players. I hope he does big things. And I thought Shaw suits only in FC but has proved me wrong yet again. Good to see Agarwal scoring runs too.

Axar as usual has been economical in the series too. Some serious contenders for the left arm column.

Pujara failed yet again. I won't be surprised if Kohli decides to go with Rahul instead of Pujara but I would prefer going with Pujara for atleast the first match.

Pujara can’t be dropped, not even for Virat himself. He is still our best test batsman currently.

It has happened before. Won't be surprised it it happens again. To be honest, he has done absolutely nothing in county (FC). I am a fan of Pujara, don't mistake me. But even after so many chances in county, if he is failing repeatedly, he will be in danger of getting dropped.

Pujara must be given the chance for the England series atleast. The thing with him is, he has played a long county stint to get himself prepared for the conditions. He has invested his time in going to England and playing county to get used to the conditions. And who's to say that Rahul will succeed? Rahul has not played as much in England conditions as Pujara. Conditions matter big time, even if you fail in that 'getting used to' period. We have seen cases of batsmen who fail in different conditions initially but as they get more used to it, they start succeeding.

Pujara needs to be given that backing for the time he has invested in county and given the entire series to prove. If he is dropped, it will send the wrong signal to players that if they go to county and fail, they'll be dropped. And this will dissuade players from going to county to hone their skills.

I am more worried about our ODI setup. I am pretty sure we will bowl better then Aussies right now but man this English lineup is as explosive as it gets. Consistently scoring 300+ in every match is not an easy feat. I agree the pitches are dead flat but they have some decent form and morale going on. We did not beat England I think last time we played when they were not this explosive, I am really doubting we will this time around as well. Lets hope for the best

I don't think limited overs Cricket is a worry for us. I am confident that we would be competitive enough for England. People doubted us that we won't perform well in South Africa but we still won 5-1. Yeah I agree the Proteas missed 3 of their important players but still they were completely out-played by India in all the departments. Think if Australia can score 300+ with ease even without Smith and Warner then how many can Indian batting line-up score ? I don't think England has that good bowling attack in the limited overs Cricket. And yes, India does have a variety in their bowling with Bhuvi, Bumrah and Hardik along with Kaul as a reserve in the fast bowling department while Kuldeep Yadav and Chahal in the spin bowling department which is more than handy in restricting the run scoring from the opposition. I will be backing India to win the ODI and T20I series 2-1 each :thumbs

Nah. Not that easy! England are not the same England who used to always underperform in LOI's anymore. They have a squad that should be called favorites for the World Cup next year. The way they bulldozed Australia in the recent ODI's (especially that 481 massacre) should sound a warning. And they played there without Stokes and Woakes. If those two return, they should get far more stronger.

Also India will play the limited overs first, giving them lesser time to acclimatize. I definitely see England winning the T20's. ODI's can be closer, but I still think England will come out on top. I believe its going to be the test series this time, that will be incredibly contested (I am backing India to get that elusive test series win in England after 11 years).
