Morne Morkel to retire from International Cricket after CA tour.

Sad to see him retire so early .. I would have liked him to stick around until the 2019 World Cup. But newly found talents Dlala or/and Ngidi more than likely will be given more match time leading up to it.

Very surprised to learn about Duanne Oliver's Kolpak deal. He had a great series against Pakistan and after only 10 Tests chooses to go that way.

Very surprised to see this on our local news today. One would think CSA will at least try and counter claim the County deal to try and keep him in SA. Rabada and Ngidi are great young prospects in the limited overs, but with Steyn & Philander nearing retirement; Olivier would have been the ideal leading the SA Test bowling attack with Rabada.

SA has already lost so many talented players who had great potential on the international stage because of these Kolpak deals. Look at the impact that Rossouw had before Kolpak and Colin Ingram is piling on the runs elsewhere in the world when he could be an excellent middle order option for SA. Now it's disappointing someone performing so well walk away from international duty just like that.

That is a strong team. Not many are picking South Africa, perhaps rightfully because of their history. I think they just might surprise a lot of people. That pace attack might arguably still be the best in the world. I know some might call for Rassie vd Dussen at 3, and that would be completely fair. I just think Markram has has something special, and I wouldn't leave him out. I feel like he's just waiting to blossom.
