ROTW never really tried going for the runs, instead relying on another Patterson blockathon to help draw the match. It wasn't to be, with Hugh Trumble ripping out four batsmen in quick time and the last man in being comically run out by Charles Turner. Australia brought up a reassuring 72-run victory despite being given quite a scare by their unheralded non-Test peers.

Nevertheless, Bart King who finished the match with 11 wickets to his name could hold his head up high after one of the greatest bowling displays in the league's history.

It was perhaps only fitting for Everton Weekes and Clyde Walcott, two legends of Barbados cricket, to post a 209-run partnership for the 5th wicket whilst scoring their respective centuries at the Kensington Oval. Shakib Al Hasan was the only Bangladeshi to withstand the West Indies' fiery five-strong pace attack featuring Curtly Ambrose, Joel Garner, Malcolm Marshall, Courtney Walsh and Learie Constantine. He battled on for a gutsy unbeaten 80 off 186 balls as Bangladesh were forced to follow on after being 240 runs in arrears at the end of their first innings.
