How to throw the ball quickly after a reflex fielding

After my fielder grabs the ball as soon as the reflex fielding mini game is over he won't throw the ball at the stumps for a while even if I press and hold the button for throwing it. And it's basically impossible to get a quick perfect throw(ie releasing the button when the bar is in the green area).

The release is a quick release on the button. As soon as it comes to your fielder, the meter starts filling, so the sooner you release it, the sooner they throw. Their fielder rating will give you a chance to get it in the middle depending on how good they are.
