Bumrah's reaction to De Kock was simply amazing. De Kock almost knew he might have given CSK the game but Bumrah being a sport he is, absolutely fantastic to watch. In a generation of aggression and tattoos, a fast bowler doing his business so calmly in every freaking match is next level stuff. We always praise the batsman, we never see how good a bowler is. Well done Bumrah, had Mumbai lost the game you would have still won the cup and admiration for all the fans out here and outside.

It was a thrilling match, was supporting CSK for Dhoni reason and in the end the better team won. If CSK had a better middle order batsman, 150 was not a bad score. Bumrah and Chahar's 8 overs were crucial and I would say CSK batted well against them.

People are singing praises of Rohit Sharma the captain, but just look at the resources he has at his disposal. The MI support staff is humongous, he is the second best batter in India, has the best all rounder and bowler from India. I don't mind him, but I like Bumrah as captain in all formats. The ingredients are all there. Calm, brilliant and unlike everyone in the 21st century, excellence with humanity. I will also immediately fast track Iyer into the squad post WC. He's a leader and a very very steady bat.

Rohit outsmarted the best Indian captain on 4 occasions in a single tournament even when his own form was so poor
Won the asia cup twice in a row as captain with young players
No reason left to say that Rohit is not better than Virat
Rohit is definitely the best captain currently after MS but BCCI still looks blindfolded by the sight of Virat
Virat's ego will never let him give up the captaincy so it must be BCCI to take the bolder call
Its funny to see that personal bias still prevails where everyone keeps saying that BCCI are thinking about the indian cricket as a whole

Time will tell the truth. I don't think that everyone is a fool to appoint Virat the Captain and above that many players under him have come out and said that he has been a good leader for the team. That says a lot !!!

But India needs someone that can lead the team even after MS retires.
Virat has always captained better under MSD's guidance but Rohit is the one who has shown that even without MS he can lead the team so much better than any other captain.
That is a true leader in my view
I know that time will tell the true fate of Indian cricket but its just that if Virat is not able to do what Rohit might have done had he been the captain then it would be so disheartening to see that we can only imagine what India would have gained had Rohit been the captain which might never happen in real life.

In an ideal world Rohit is Kohli's deputy so there arises no question to compare both. In my view a poor Captain is the one who doesn't bring any positivity into the team and neither works for the betterment of the team. A Captain who is selfish and works only to gain fame and popularity is a poor Captain !!!! And also there are Captain who once after becoming the Captain cannot himself perform and it affects the entire team is a poor Captain. Virat Kohli is an average Captain at worse and a shrewd leader who knows nothing but to win at best. At times he is worst and at times he is best. The longer he would lead the team the better he would become !!

If RCB are looking for a captain, then that English captain is not a bad bloke. And if they have a quarter ounce of sense, they will give him the job for 3 years and not keep a sword on his neck every game!

Well it seems IPL governing body is in talks of expanding from 8-10 teams again. If that is the case, there should be groups.

Nah. Round robin should still continue. IPL right now has the best format for any league or tournament. A round robin phase followed by a playoff format that should soon catch up with international cricket tournaments. If the ICC World Cup that just ended can have a round robin format with 10 teams, why can't the IPL continue with their existing setup? And unlike ODI's, you can have 2 games everyday for a T20 league.

WC had single round robin which means 45 matches, IPL has double which means 90 matches which is double the amount as compared to 56 matches right now. The format would just become way too boring and too much of T20 cricket.

We had a system where some teams played each other once if I’m correct, wonder if that will make a re-appearance.

The foreigner quota should also increase to five from four, this would still have 60 Indian players playing per round which is four more than the current 56. It would also allow the teams to be more competitive avoiding the formation of a team like Pune Warriors India again. Finally, with rumours of IPL getting it’s own window in the ICC schedule and increased interest in it globally, it makes perfect sense to allow an extra foreigner to play. I’m not one for forcing teams to pick/play an associate player compulsorily like many have suggested on social media, but this could also help with that if needed.

Bayliss signs up as Sunrisers Hyderabad coach and replaces outgoing Tom Moody (Source: Cricinfo)

Hope Moody puts his hat into the ring again for India coaching. And hope this time (if he does put his hat down), he gets picked. I just cannot see any other coach in India that can coach a team where Kohli is the captain (which is likely to continue despite a few people opposing to that idea). Moody has coached SRH to victory when David Warner was the captain and Warner is a pretty similar character to that of Kohli. Even if Rohit gets captaincy, Moody could be good combo with Rohit. I am pretty confident that Stephen Fleming won't throw his hat into the ring, because I have a feeling he won't get along well with Kohli and with MS Dhoni on his way out of the India team, it might not be a good thing to get Fleming in.
