A great match with fantastic presentation. When I saw the second innings of Warwickshire, I was a little doubtful whether we would make it considering the way our batsmen had performed in the other matches. I was sure Ballance would perform when it was most needed and he really did put all his experience into this game.

I do hope to carry forward this winning momentum and make it to finals.

Man, we really should've blasted Lancashire after reducing them to 48/5. We let it go away from us a little bit by not getting Faf du Plessis and Dane Vilas' wickets early. I think 213 is going to be an uphill task on this sort of wicket. But I'm hopeful that my batsmen deliver when I need them the most.

A disappointing performance from the table-topper as they miss out on a finals berth.

James Anderson delivered 6 wickets and won Man of the Match as Lancashire defeated Essex for the second time this season!
He finished with 10 wickets for the match.

Essex batting was shambolic and gave up too easily against the likes of Anderson, Ashwin and Onions.
Lancashire's move to go with only three front-line bowlers worked wonders.

Surrey are waiting for Essex at Birmingham!

Essex Eagles vs Surrey CCC

Venue: Edgbaston, Birmingham
Pitch type: Poor
Preview: While Surrey is coming of a tense win, Essex lost their previous match by a margin of 38 runs. But we know that match was closer than that. This wicket has been generally bowler friendly, with spinners having a great time.
Both teams might want to bring a second spinner in their team as the track will get easier for batting later on. Quick pacers should also do well. While both teams have great bowling, Essex have better pacers and a one-man army in the form of Harmer.
Batting is in favour of Surrey who have found a solid player in the form of Gary Ballance while Ollie Pope is long due for a big innings.
Overall, Essex are a better team and are favourites for a rematch against Lancashire.
Trivia: The last time Rory Burns played here, he scored a ton against the Aussies. Sam Curran also did well in that match with 87 runs and 5 wickets across both innings.
Gareth Batty took an 8 wicket haul against Warwickshire here and should be in the frame of selection.
Players to watch out for: Alastair Cook is the leading run-scorer in this ground and should fire in this match.
