I feel Agar should either play as a bowler or not play at all. He is not a power hitter and Aussie don't need him to bat at 6. They need to find a better option.

This team would be a step ahead of the Aussies of 00' if the selection and management was spot on. Today again, we were a bowler short. We must show faith in Jadeja and bat him at 6. Kuldeep turned it around in one over, but for the longest time we were looking for another bowler who could bowl 5-6 overs and I am not interested in options like Kedar etc. I hear people saying we miss part timers like Viru, Sachin, Dada etc. but limited overs cricket has changed completely from then to now. I rather a part time batter at 7 but I want 6 proper bowlers that includes Jadeja. Until Pandya comes back, I'd give a Dubey or Shankar another go!

Get the gloves off the Rahul's Indian cricket. We need their fingers to grip a cricket bat.

For a player of his class and skill, Steve Smith has a real problem with conversion rates in ODIs.

Ironic that his fierce rival has the same issue in tests, when you would have picked them to be actually good in the other format than the one that they are currently stars in.

So, Pant is supposedly fit and is not starting today, while Pandey starts ahead of him in an unfamiliar role and Rahul as good as he has been up until now, continues to keep the gloves.

Does this mean that the bloke was dropped? And is Rahul the ODI wicket keeper out of position at five from now?

Why change a winning formula?

Why change a winning formula?

It is the inconsistency in selection policies that make me question if this truly is the winning formula for this side. I do not mind Rahul keeping as I did suggest that the way forward for him in ODIs would be to take up the gloves but dropping Pant after an injury does not make much sense when his actual replacement is not really a middle order slogger.[DOUBLEPOST=1579429246][/DOUBLEPOST]Starc at five? Never go full Ashwin, Finchy. :D

Lack of power hitters in the squad cost us the series, definitely don't think Maxwell or Stoinis should be in the side but come on, you can't expect to have a team where the only player who can attack from the first ball in the middle order is Ashton Turner

Suprised that neither Stoinis nor Maxwell is in the team. Even Mitchell Marsh or somebody like a Travis Head would have been a good edition instead of Turner.

After their last outing in the World Cup, they definitely needed to be sent back to Domestic cricket. They shouldn't be rewarded for costing us a finals appearance and maybe a win. Mitch Marsh is much more of a consistent batsman in ODI cricket and is a far better bowler so I would rather take him batting 5-6. Stoinis has had about 1 match winning innings since his 146 vs NZ and he was batting a 3. Maxwell is a complete hit or miss and has been more of a miss for the longest time. Travis Head has performed better opening so it wouldn't do us very good bringing him. With all of that being said, I just want Ashton Turner out of the team

Shami has outstanding ever since comeback in ODI cricket.

Still can't get over the fact he was dropped in the Semis of the world cup for an half fit Bhuvi.

If he could just improve his consistency marginally, he is bound to become a legendary ODI bowler.

Australia probably underpar here but the lack of Dhawan means this will not be an easy chase at all.

The ball is doing a bit after pitching in - perfect for somebody like Pat Cummins who would be lethal on this wicket. Not an easy target by any means for India.

I think it can become easy if one of the batsman from top 3 stays for about 35 overs. But to do that it would be a tough ask. I still think India has an advantage there.

Think after his break and his BBL form, Maxi deserves another go in place of Turner. Turner himself did not have a great BBL, looked out of form and Maxi seems in a much better head space that should aid his lack of consistency.

Australia might need to evaluate the balance if their side. Think Agar is overrated with the bat and he is not a #7 bat, more like a bowling all-rounder who keeps it tight. Someone like a Mitch Marsh or Stonis might be better at 7 if he improves his bowling in the limited overs format. But I'd be a bit reluctant to pick a Marsh bro because they're usually very inconsistent but Mitch Marsh could fit at 6/7.
