Despite a shoddy start, Sialkot Stallions managed to finish with a rather impressive total of 150 before eventually being bowled-out on the last ball of the last over.
Playing a bowling-all rounder as an opener and at the coveted number three resulted poorly for Sialkot Stallions. Imran Nazir's erratic nature didn't help either.

At one point, Sialkot Stallions were reduced to 38/5 with James Kirtley's stellar single-over double-strikes in the fourth over leading the damage for Sussex Sharks.
But Pakistan's nationals, Abdul Razzaq and his skipper Shoaib Malik salvaged Sialkot Stallions' innings with an incredible 72-run partnership for the 6th-wicket.

Sussex Sharks did pull things back towards the end of the innings after Rory Hamilton-Brown's breakthrough ended the Malik-Razzaq pairing in the 16th over.
Sialkot Stallions' tail faltered with Shakeel Ansar's 9-ball 14 being the only knock of note as they staggered to 150 before eventually being bowled-out.

James Kirtley was the pick of the bowlers. He finished with figures of 3 for 18 in 3.0 overs. Yasir Arafat also bagged 3 wickets but he was a little more expensive.
Dwayne Smith, Michael Yardy and Rory Hamilton-Brown claimed a wicket each, with the latter dismissing Abdul Razzaq to end Stallions' valiant counterattack.

An incredible finish to an incredible season opener! Sussex Sharks just edge past the Sialkot Stallions by a mere margin of 2 wickets, and with six balls to spare.
Matt Prior's stunning 8-ball 18-run knock pushed the Sharks across the finish line with six balls to spare when it seemed like this game was headed to a close finish.

Piyush Chawla, playing only his second Twenty20 for Sussex Sharks also chipped in with an invaluable 6-ball 12 which eased the pressure off Matt Prior at the end.
Sialkot Stallions' bowlers gave Sussex Sharks a run for their money when they just about reproduced Sussex Sharks' bowling effort and flattened their top-order.

Mohammad Asif even redid the James Kirtley two-wickets in one-over feat when he dismissed Murray Goodwin and Dwayne Smith in the 3rd-over of the innings.
However, Chris Nash and Ed Joyce's emulation of the Sialkoti fightback restored the Sharks' momentum and pushed them much closer towards the 151-run target.

Matt Prior did the rest after Nash and Joyce's dismissals, and saw his team home with an impressive cameo. Stallions were dejected to have come so close and lost.
Abdur Rehman, Sarfraz Ahmed and especially Mohammad Asif bowled brilliantly, but in vain. It was a rather forgetful game for Mansoor Amjad and Naved-Ul-Hasan.

Central Stags' top-order and middle-order batsmen commanded the innings for almost its entirety, but a lacklustre finish left them with a lot more to desire.
Ross Taylor's splendid fifty at number three alongside Matthew Sinclair's wonderful knock of 44 runs from 38 deliveries was the backbone Central Stags' innings.

The two added 77 runs for the 3rd-wicket before Jacques Kallis brought the pairing to a screeching halt when he dismissed Matthew Sinclair in the 16th over.
Warriors' extraordinary bowling effort in the death-overs restricted the Stags to a lower total than initially projected, limiting them to 152/7 in their 20.0 overs.

Central Stags could only manage 32 runs in the last 5.0 overs, for the loss of four wickets. Ross Taylor was dismissed in the penultimate over of the innings.
Makhaya Ntini bagged two wickets in the final over to wrap up the Stags' innings. Rusty Theron also claimed two wickets and he was slightly more economical.

Ashwell Prince and Jacques Kallis' magnificent 117-run partnership for the 2nd-wicket made a complete mockery of the 153-run target the Stags had set them.
Both batsmen achieved fifties with Ashwell Prince being the top-scorer for the Warriors with his 56-ball 68 that included only three fours and a massive six.

Jacques Kallis played a classy innings to complete a somewhat perfect game for himself. He was effective with the ball and scored invaluable runs with the bat.
Central Stags' bowlers did not seem to have an answer for these two batsmen as they failed to find the big breakthrough until the game was pretty much over.

Colin Ingram and Mark Boucher saw their team home after Jacques Kallis and Ashwell Prince had set-up a comfortable win to commence the Warriors' season.
There weren't many highlights for the Stags as Mitchell McClenaghan and Graham Napier went for ten an over, but Kieran Noema-Barnett was definitely one.

I still haven't gotten lineups for two teams and I understand why. VC's inactive cause he's dealing with a loss of a dear relative and has no time for this operation (and rightfully so), and X Factor messaged me in advance that he'll be out of town and unable to access PC until Sunday night or possibly Monday morning.

So, I've decided to take the liberty and choose Guyana's lineup until VC comes back, and I'll just wait for X Factor to post Wayamba Elevens' lineup on Sunday/Monday.

Deccan Chargers racked-up a massive 207-run total with the help of fifties from Andrew Symonds and Scott Styris, as well as their openers' electrifying start.
The only lowlight of the innings for the Chargers was Tirumalasetti Suman's golden duck at number three, 'cause apart from that, it completely belonged to them.

Adam Gilchrist and Rohit Sharma got the Chargers off to a flying start with scores of 28 and 17, respectively. Their knocks helped bring up 50 in just 4.0 overs.
After their departures and Suman's golden duck, the Chargers stumbled a little bit but regained their form and continued to thrash the Guyanese bowlers.

Andrew Symonds and Scott Styris added 99 runs together. They finished with scores of 54 and 59 respectively, helping the Chargers towards the 200-run mark.
A sharp knock from Venugopal Rao helped them cross that 200-run mark when he smashed 19 runs off just 8 deliveries. Rao also remained unbeaten in the end.

Apart from Esuan Crandon, this was a terrible outing for the Guyanese bowlers. No one conceded more runs than Chris Barnwell, going for 53 in his 4.0 overs.
Esuan Crandon bagged a 4-wicket haul but was a little on the expensive side. Devendra Bishoo was the most economical of the lot, conceding runs at 8-an-over.

A complete bowling performance wraps up an easy victory for the Deccan Chargers. Guyana is bowled-out for 123 in a chase of 208 despite some late resistance.
Guyana's innings had very little to cherish. They started very poorly as they lost two wickets in the very first over. They began rejuvenation of the innings after.

But a timely dismissal of Narsingh Deonarine from Scott Styris shelved that. In the 5th over, RP Singh achieved the feat of bagging two wickets in one over, again.
Scott Styris then dismissed Royston Crandon in the next over, reducing Guyana to 48/6 in the first 6.0 overs. Jonathan Foo and Lennox Cush launched a fightback.

However, the best they did was prolong the inevitable. The Chargers wrapped-up Guyana soon after bringing an end to this valiant fightback from Cush and Foo.
RP Singh starred with the ball as he claimed a 4-fer. Pragyan Ojha, Fidel Edwards and Scott Styris picked-up two wickets apiece. Ojha also picked two in one over.

Wayamba Elevens amassed 217 runs in their 20.0 overs with wicket-keeper batsmen - Sameera de Zoysa and Kusal Perera being at the helm of this operation.
They scored 76 runs off 47 balls and 74 runs off 40 balls, respectively. Mahela Jayawardene and Jeevantha Kulatunga also chipped in with fiery cameos.

Kathmandu's bowlers stood no chance against this kind of brutality from Wayamba's batsmen. Raju Basnyat was by far the most successful, if only for his economy.
Pramod Basnet bagged three big wickets but he was very expensive in his three overs. Almost as much as Rom Shrestha and Dipendra Chaudhary's 51 and 48.

Despite an incredible show of resistance from Dipendra Chaudhary and a wounded tiger-esque lashing out from Subash Khakurel, Kathmandu fell terribly short.
Kathmandu were utterly blown away for a mere 85 after 16.4 overs in response to Wayamba Elevens' 217/5, losing this match by massive margin of 132 runs.

Chanaka Welegedara bagged 3 wickets for only 7 runs. Ajantha Mendis claimed 2 wickets for just 9. Farveez Maharoof and Thisara Perera also picked two wickets.
