Day 2. There was a bit of rain around so we lost about 28 or so overs... How did we go?

Browne and Westley did some good early work but when Jimmy snared Westley caught behind there was a wee collapse. Matt Parkinson ran through Lawrence and Bops but Tendo came out and steadied the ship before playing off the back foot when he shoulda fronted gifting Bailey his only wicket. Adam Wheater came in and worked hard but when Jimmy snaffled Browne he was left with the tail and worse was running out a newly revived Harmer for a Golden Duck. Sids stuck for a while before getting run-out and Wheater's attempts to hit out ended with him knicking Jimmy behind. Ports couldn't keep out Jones so 240 was how we ended up with 6 overs to go...

The spinners kept it tight but it was Jim who took the key wickets. Class will out.

Six overs were available before the close and Lancs used them to squeeze out the deficit. Sam Cook took a bit of a spank but Ports is on the money straight away. This game is on.

Day 3 of the Lancashire match. Would it continue in the same vein or would one of us take the initiative?

Honours even again then. Another good opening partnership happened before Siddle got Davies caught behind. Ports then castle Lehmann before Jennings upped his game to go to 50. The captain then chipped in with two quick wickets getting Keats caught behind and Jones fending a bouncer to gully. Livingstone looked okay but Harmer always looked deadly and he got his first as Livi feathered behind. Dane Vilas took the fight to us while Harmer chipped away at the other end getting a very fortunate LBW against Jos and an absolute stone dead one against Bailey. Siddle came back and claimed Vilas just shy of a 50 before Saqib started hitting out with first innings stalwart Jimmy for company. The two of them lasted for over 15 overs together before Dan Lawrence removed an unlucky Jimmy and allowed Harmer to claim the last one against Parky leaving poor Saqib 3 shy of a 50. In the context of this game that is a decent innings.

Siddle and Ports were metronomic while Sam Cook was punished especially by Davies. Harmer claims another good haul while Dan Lawrence had a very productive cameo. The captain will be pleased with his contribution with the ball in this game.

End of day three and it's a very interesting game. We need 229 to win which may be tough especially as there is rain around and we've lost about 30 overs each day. We certainly can't treat it as a OD chase on this pitch so we will have to wait and see how Day 4 starts. This one may well go to the wire.

Going to be an exciting chase for sure could ebb and flow. Those later order runs from Vilas and Mahmood have made the final day very interesting. Wonder whether the day 4 will bring in some surprises and demons ....

With the way the league is at the moment I can afford to not take risks and just see it out but the pitch is still spinning so a defensive game could well end in tears.
