I don't know if this is true. But one of my friends in my locality was speaking about some channels in telegram app that promotes IPL match fixing. They predict the results way before the toss. According to him 2 matches were already predicted and CSK & DC were set to win. That is one of the reasons for umpire error. It was so funny that I started laughing at his face. Lol

He says SRH will win against RCB tomorrow. Highest opening partnership to be from SRH. Lol.

Freakish game! Both teams tried their level best to lose it, over one another. That moment when Agarwal holed out to Hetmyer reminded me of that classic India vs Bangladesh World T20 game where Mushfiqur hits two boundaries off Hardik and brings the equation down to 2 to win off 4 balls and he starts jumping wild in celebration that they've won it. And next two balls, Mushfiqur and Mahmudullah both have brain fades and hole out in the deep and India sneak through to a 1-run win. Similar thing happened. Mayank for all the brilliance he showed with his batting, cant be excused anymore for inexperience as he is playing IPL long enough and also plays for India at the international level. It was a serious brain fade moment where he goes for a glory shot with 1 run needed to win 3 balls and the scores are level.

The "short run" umpiring error was absolute nonsense. Wonder why Indian umpires never raise their umpiring levels despite being roasted year after year. IPL umpiring just never seems to raise above the stupidity that it always puts itself in. Lucky for the organizers and the fans that the tournament has gotten off to a crackling start and nobody has felt the absence of crowds that much.

On the Ashwin thing - I was very disappointed in him for unnecessarily going for that dive. It felt to me as if he wanted to prove a point to people who criticize his fitness as being "not adept enough for the shorter formats" and he paid the price today by not being able to bowl after that one over. He was brilliant in that over and probably played THE role in Delhi's win. Good that he is fit now for next game, but hope he understands that as long as he keeps bowling very tight and picking up wickets, he is going to constantly put pressure on the selectors for the shorter formats. Off spin is expected to return back to trend anytime as I have a feeling that the over exposure of leggier will lead to saturation and offies/left arm spinners will soon have their day in the sun.

Big game today. Really excited to see RCB back in action again after a horrendous season last year. We do have some quality players this time around. All the departments are well sorted. Only thing that needs some thinking is the use of those 4 foreign players quota. I'm really happy that we got someone like Chris Morris who could play that allrounder-finisher role. He can solve the death over issues too. Having Steyn in bowling department is a huge + considering his experience and performances in the past. We have Chahal as our frontline spinner paired with Washington Sundar. Bowling department is well sorted in my opinion.

Coming to batting, there is some issues on who will play. Management did their homework to stitch togather one of the best batting unit this time around. But due to that 4 overseas quota, there is some sort of confusion. I really want to see Devdutt Padikkal play all the matches irrespective of his performances. He is a gem, a floater, can play in any position. He had a great Ranji season and has a very good stats in T20s. Most importantly, he is a local player. We also have Josh Phillips. We all know how good he was in Big Bash last season.

My Playing XI -

Devdutt Padikkal :bat: /Josh Phillips :wkb:
Parthiv Patel :wkb:
Virat Kohli :bat:
AB De Villiers :bat:
Aaron Finch/Devdutt Padikkal :bat:
Shivam Dubey :ar:
Chris Morris/Moeen Ali :ar:
Washington Sundar :ar:
Yuzi Chahal :bwl:
Dale Steyn :bwl:
Navdeep Saini :bwl:

That 'one-short' call could be the difference between a berth in the playoff's or home. It just boggles my mind! How would DC have changed the result with that 1 run in hand? Mayank's last scoring shot was a 6. Pathetic! DC didn't deserve to win that game.

I'm really enjoying this RCB 'Insider' Show. Each and every element of fun, entertainment, team bonding and pratice sessions are covered. All the players seem to be pretty relaxed and ready for first match.

Not to forget, we also have team mascot Mr.Nags to keep players entertained. [HASHTAG]#Peas[/HASHTAG]

Okay so first things first. The way Mayank Agarwal was striking the ball yesterday I felt the win was on cards for KXIP. The thing Delhi messed it up was when they needed to defend 42 off 18 they gave the ball to Mohit and I felt if Rabada was given the ball at that point he would've ensured Punjab needed around 34-35 runs off last 2 overs and it would've been easier for Mohit and Stoinis to defend that. I felt the shot that Agarwal played should've been avoided, just 1 needed of 2 ball and you go on to lose the match was a classic example of Bangladesh v/s India in 2016 WT20. Tbh I just felt it coming and to my surprise it actually happened and I was just laughing off thinking WTH just happened. Coming into the Super Over I was surprised to see a class player like KL Rahul play such a bad shot in a Super Over. Not really surprised with Pooran's shot there. The West Indies player are known to commit blunders like that in pressure situations. Actually I feel is the KXIP franchise teams always lack a bit of common sense over the years which is a reason why they never succeed inspite of having some really good players in their camp. I am sure both Captain's will consider the errors they made yesterday going forward into the tournament.and play better as we progress further. Some good learning experience for KL Rahul and Iyer very early in the tournament which is very crucial. Stoinis in all honesty had a very good match and he would look forward to carrying this in future.

I refuse to believe that there is no better local talent than Mohit Sharma to fall back upon. How he manages to get a place in the XI is beyond me. He shouldn't be in the 15-man squad itself.

I tend to agree with this. He was a good bowler in somewhere around 2015. After that he has looked to be ordinary.

It’s a simple thing. Ishant deserved to play in the XI considering he was their best bowler last season (after Rabada of course). Going with Mohit is just piss poor

He is hilarious.

The part where he takes off his glasses and wipes his eyes for a fake cry is the most funny part :lol:lol:lol
Danish Sait - The man who plays NAGS is a very very good and an underrated comedian.

This year he is taking normal interviews as well playing (I mean as Danish Sait not as Nags).
