Will make my double pick tomorrow morning - likely 4-5 hours after my time expires. If Aislabie wants, go on after me

Apologies, what happened there was an unupdated index and a ddrap buried in uni for over a week.

Martin van Jaarsveld, my other option, will replace him

:saf: :bat: HD Ackerman

Tests
- 161 runs @ 20.12 (best 57) in 4 matches
First-class - 14,625 runs @ 43.65 (40 centuries, best 309*) in 220 matches

As a child, HD Ackerman was one of the best batters I ever actually watched live. His Test career spanned barely a month before he had completely figured out who he was as a batter, and by the time he'd reached his peak the South African batting order just wasn't one he could break into, full as it was with the likes of Smith, Gibbs, Kirsten, Kallis and others. Instead, he went off and earned his coin absolutely crushing the hopes and dreams of county bowlers for Leicestershire, most notably in 2006 when he belted 1,804 runs in 14 matches, with a best of 309*. What a player.

@Neptune up now

Apologies, what happened there was an unupdated index
Also, index is now updated. And this would have been a great excuse if not for the fact that Robertson was on the index, right above your pick of Bruce Dooland

Sorry for that, had been a bit occupied.

:aus: :ar: Jim Burke

Tests
- 1,280 runs @ 34.59 (3 centuries, best 189) and 8 wickets @ 28.75 (best 4/37) in 24 matches
First-class - 7,563 runs @ 45.01 (21 centuries, best 220) and 101 wickets @ 29.11 (3 5WI, best 6/40) in 130 matches

A player I'd not really considered, Jim Burke has an excellent record at first-class level and a decent one at Test level. Probably doubles up pretty well as a second-spinner, but his batting is by far his stronger suit: despite him being a notable blocker at the top of the order, his exciting debut century came from number six in the batting order. In this case, I'll put him at five or six and let him express himself, as well as occasionally making use of his spin.
