Chahal might have just dropped the match.

Tough chance though but that will still go down as a drop.

I admire Kohli’s consistency. When he was in form, there was no one like him. Now when he is out of form, there is no one like him! Crazy consistency.

For India’s sake, drop Kohli and let him earn his spot back. With INDIA, we have enough talent.

I love this new approach of going all out while batting from India. We were good enough to win this series, but there will be matches or series where this approach will fail. However, I hope they stick with it because it is entertaining, and that is what T20s are all about.

Crucial inning from Jadeja as well, given we were in trouble when he walked in. Bowling looks good with Bhuvi swinging the ball at the start and picking wickets upfront. We need this version of Bhuvi being aggressive, especially at the beginning of the inning.

Sony Liv is showing us the advertisement more than the match. It's like we are here to watch advertisement and match is just an additional benefit. They just cut the Live to advertisement without a second to show us what's happening on the field.

It's high time Kohli visit god of cricket Sachin Tendulkar again.

Last time he lost his form in 2014, he was helped by Sachin. Sachin monitored him closely and helped him with technical aspects which helped Kohli to score 4 centuries in next series he played against Australia.

Jordan playing for England is different bowler altogether.

His horrific season in the last few IPL season is still fresh in my mind. :D
Probably helps that both games were played in the evening when the sun was still out. With no threat of dew with matches that are finishing when it's still bright. Maybe an indicator that he struggles heavily to bowl with a wet ball? The horror performaces in the PSL and IPL games he played point to that.

makes a difference, although he's been pretty rubbish for England for a couple of years anyway

Yeah with @Bigby Wolf pointing to his less than stellar PSL performances wondered if it was dew in the subcontinental conditions that could have contributed. Makes it a lot harder to land those yorkers when the ball keeps slipping away constantly.

It seems like our bowling’s Plan A is to strike early with Bhuvi’s swing and tighten the noose with Bumrah at the other end whilst having Hardik hunt for wickets with the ball aggressively. I do feel like Chahal has marginally declined from his previous self. Wonder how long he’ll be in the team given that these wrist spinners and mystery bois seem to have a peak and shelf life lesser than the tearaway quicks of the yesteryears.

I think his deserved inclusion in the playing XI is far more complex than we believe.

Because even ignoring the fact that he can’t buy a run at the moment, where would he be playing in this side? He’s not an aggressive starter on most days by any means, takes a while to get going and on most days he tees off at the end.

The only role I can see him playing is that of a powerplay basher who gets those boundaries with over the top shots when the field is not spread out. Once that is over he will still have to face wrist spinners which every team seems to have these days. He isn’t going to take risks against them usually and at the moment he can’t seem to buy runs off the finger spinners too. If he were to work out his form issues there he could still pinch runs from the other bowlers and really go for the big push at the end.

I can see the appeal of that tactic but for the most part it still is a risk as his dismissal will leave the team short of it’s expected target. At least at the moment we seem to have the belief and the firepower to gun for runs in any situation which is also helped by the previous batters generally batting aggressively with one exception per game who seems to struggle to put bat on ball. Making Kohli that person can be worthwhile only if he improved himself to the point that he can maintain a strike-rate of 135-145 again in the middle overs. If not I would rather see someone else play. If he’s given assurances over his playing spot and he’s made to stop believing his own nonsense, I can see KL Rahul doing that job to a much, much better extent.

Even though we have won this series it does feel like England's performance have gone down since the West Indies T20I Series and they really need to find a way to get back to their best. I don't think a change in leadership has got anything to do with this but it's just just a collective failure where the entire batting just crumbles. And it actually happened in both games in this series.

On to India's part, they have got their bowling combination right. Bhuvi have been able to generate some good swing while Bumrah was accurate as usual. If Jadeja can find his touch then things can like ominous from India's opposition's POV. Just like the 1at T20I, a comprehensive victory!
