Their series versus Sri Lanka has been fun to watch. Ibrahim feels like a comfortable 85-90 SR opener who can dovetail nicely with Gurbaz' more aggressive approach. Rahmat and Shahidi are still not what you want at three and four in terms of aggression but they're at least good value for scoring runs. Following that up with a middle order of Nabi, Najibullah, Naib and Rashid for pure power is a good composition to have. All they need is a good pacer to complement Farooqi and they might spring a surprise or two in the next WC like their win vs SL.

Running the Super League and rankings is really confusing everyone here. Perhaps, the ICC will do a better job in the next essay. Then again, for CWC 2027, you will probably be looking at 12-14 teams. This would mean yet another change in the format(much needed) and the way the automatic teams are decided.

Really harsh on Janneman Malan from SA. First he was left out to accommodate Bavuma at the top (which worked, but it was still harsh), then when QdK gets injured they pick Hendricks. Hendricks has been in great T20I form and sort of up and down in SA20 but Malan's ODI career stats are phenomenal.

Just like Scotland will be without Josh Davey and Brad Wheal; Netherlands won't have Fred Klaassen, Shane Snater, Roelof van der Merwe, Paul van Meekeren, Timm van der Gugten, Colin Ackermann and Brandon Glover because they have county contracts and, seemingly, nothing can be done to enable the players to turn out for Netherlands.

That's basically their entire bowling attack and most experienced batter.

Waiting for the English media to write a bunch of gloomy articles about this.… still waiting…
