Colombo put up a solid 273 in the final, riding on a classy century from Nipun Dhananjaya. Things weren’t looking great early on—Pathum Nissanka fell for a duck in the very first over, and Starc sent back Travis Head with a cracking delivery on 30. But Dhananjaya came in, settled the nerves, and built the innings brick by brick.
He found support first from Pavan Rathnayake (31), and then really took off once Dhananjaya Lakshan joined him. The pair added 101 runs, with Lakshan playing the aggressor in a cleanly struck 67*. Dhananjaya brought up his ton in the 41st over, a knock filled with patience and smart shot selection under pressure.
