{SLC} Emerald Cricket League

All-time team records. I guess this puts Basnahira as the best ECL club (for now). It's just based on Best Position, followed by Win %.

And something I have decided is that for future editions, there won't be any new club formations anymore. I want these existing identities to grow. And to improve their record, because I don't think Disharies is ever coming back to manage Moratuwa again.

Be ready to change the best finish - Champions (2023) to Champions (2023,2026) for the Jaffna Super Kings !!!!

OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD WE ACTUALLY FUKCING WON I CANT BELIEVE IT MAN I THOUGHT WE CHOKED WITH THAT COLLAPSE WTF

I legitimately can't believe it man, I am absolutely elated. Basnahira Cricket Dundee is no doubt going to go down as the favorite team I've ever managed in a cricket league on these forums. Kusal Perera saving his best for last was a godsent, and Kamindu and Iyer's invaluable knocks and Shanaka holding his own in the heat o the battle truly sealed the deal for us. Starc made a massive impact in the final, and almost every player in our squad chipped in at crucial moments throughout the season. Avishka and Kusal weren't the most consistent, but they turned up when it mattered the most. Kamindu did extremely well for someone who had his batting position constantly changed and fluctuated, and Iyer, out fearless leader, what a captain he has proven to be. A true leader, with both the bat, and on the field. Dasun Shanaka really came into his own this season after being a bit of a bust last year, and Chaturanga de Silva and Ramesh Mendis have been insane finds. Two relative unknowns and they formed a lethal combo with the ball, and bailed us out with the bat multiple times. The bowling was fabulous as well, with Josh Hazlewood being the clear standout in a trio where he would usually be outshined by the other two, if not for their lack of form. But still, the "lack of form" from Mitchell Starc was shunned aside in the big final, similar to how Jasprit Bumrah and Joe Root shunned their bad forms aside in a must win game in the final round of the league stage, helping us qualify for the final in the first place. Ravindra Jadeja and Varun Chakravarthy spent the final on the bench, but they were of just as much importance to our win, being linchpins of the attack in most of our home games and a few away games as well.

All in all, I am absolutely elated with how the season went for Basnahira Cricket Dundee. Winning a league of such calibre is always special, and to make it more special, we've booked our place in the Champions League, which I believe will be my first solo trip to CL as a manager (not counting teams I've been a caretaker of), and I couldn't be more proud of the squad I'll get to manage in the CL.

Thank you for such an amazingly paced and extremely well run league. Honestly one of my favorites in all my years on the forums @Paranoid Kendroid. Long may it continue! :cheers

Also, I want to specifically thank @mohsin7827 for giving R. Premadasa to me. It was his home ground before, but he was kind enough to let me use it so I can stay true to the IRL Basnahira Cricket Dundee lore. Thanks bhai, genuinely appreciate the gesture.

And lastly, thanks for the well wishes and congrats everyone, and commiserations on the finals loss @Perfect Square. I know for a fact that you are going to COOK in next season's squad rebuild.

Team of the Tournament:

Some of these are very marginal calls. In the end, I have tried to give more weightage to the amount of runs/wickets the player has got while also maintaining a good balance between bat and ball.
