Just A Thought...

Ok, don't everyone shout me down, but I have been thinking about a few things concerning the Game and the legal issues over using player, team, country and ground likenesses, names, logo's.

What if a 'game engine' was designed and released? Rather than create a fully-fledged game, why not let enthusiasts build the detail around the engine instead. Much like Linux in the early days.

People could add their own teams, real teams, grounds, logo's, uniforms, etc. They could even create their own calender of fixtures.

Perhaps supply templates for most artwork.

I'm not suggesting that the current game be turned into this, merely saying that should difficulties arise that are caused by legalities, then perhaps this is an answer.

Much like using the Aurora Game Engine that was released with Neverwinter Nights ( if anyone plays that game ).

Anyway, its just an idea...comments welcome.

Open Source is good. Especially when the project is commented so you know how to use the code.
From Duffarama.
