Bizarre why Shankar wasn't sent in at 3 considering he's in form and it's his home ground. This type of situation now is one where he's never excelled in. Might've preferred Shanaka over him to bat in the death overs.
Looks like Punjab will never manage to win more than six games a season and always end up screw themselves over towards the end of the season.
Seems like any new players that go to Punjab end up performing worse, akin to that old RCB meme (players that leave RCB end up performing well for...
Definitely a good choice by SRH to release both Williamson and Pooran but have a feeling they'll try hard to get Williamson back. Agree with the others here, Williamson will no doubt be a bidding war between CSK and SRH. If Kane doesn't come back to SRH, then the captaincy debate gets difficult...
It's been evident that India haven't been good enough in Powerplays, both batting and bowling apart from a few occasions. On the batting front, it's obvious Prithvi Shaw needs to come in. Up till now it looks like KL has a mental block where he can't resist playing an anchor role and playing...
That trade is terrible. Karachi were shite last season but Babar was the only consistent batsman of their side even if he scored at a low SR. Babar alongside Mohammad Haris sounds like a great opening combination for Peshawar though.
SA were unlucky last WC, but only have themselves to blame this time. Completely shat the bed in their last two games, letting Pak get 185 from 43/4 and the choke today.
With a 70% chance of rain, could be anyone's game tommorow. Ireland managed to squeeze a win because of a sluggish middle over period for England. Don't see why Bangladesh can't do the same.
Their bowling attack looks on the rise as well. Taskin and Mustafizur hitting form in the last game...
I'd still back Nawaz, Asif Ali, Haider and even Zaman to clear the boundaries in a short game. Pakistan seem to always get something from their big hitters.
Wouldn't even say it's a big advantage to India, Hardik and maybe SKY are the only players who can really be relied on to hit the big...
Criminal to let that last wicket partnership get 30 odd runs. Wasn't a great batting effort by us either, although Sergio took us really close to getting that win. Improved bowling performance overall though, although need both the batting and bowling to click together next time.
Well played by...
The bowlers have been working hard in the nets, definitely gonna improve those economy rates. Our batting's been our strength in this format, time for us bowlers to help mould a dominant performance away from home.
Seems like Pakistan have given up on constructing an ideal middle order with batsmen playing at specific batting numbers. But might not necessarily be a bad thing going into the WC, because their middle order seems to come out with some unpredictable innings when the opposition least expect it...
Credit to the Titans, they bossed the chase and played it perfectly. Great innings from Majooz on our end. Off day for the bowlers, we'll put this one behind us and only look ahead.
RIP Prithvi.
I recall him posting often in the cricket discussion threads a few years ago, and sparked many a debate with the others there. It was all good discussion and it all came from a passion for cricket which we all share. Glad to have interacted with him back then. Condolences to his...
