Interesting and disappointing if that is the same in all careers. I am into my third season and have now established myself batting four with Warwickshire (64 rating). Would be gutted if I play through another two or three seasons and find such an immersion breaking scenario when breaking into...
I played a career match using the pro camera yesterday and was very impressed. Found it much easier to time the ball. I turned the batting timing feedback off and just got on with it as though I was out in the middle.
One thing I found uncomfortable was not being 100% sure where my pads were...
And even in career the one day league format is set up by alphabetical order rather than regionally.
Your best bet is probably set up a career and play as the team rather than the individual. But you'd miss any games that he is not selected for.
I try and strangle the batsmen with a ring of fielders all in front of square on both off and onside (with exception of wicketkeeper and a gully) and with sweepers on the boundary again both off and on.
Bowl very straight.
If they fail to find the gaps, you will often see them lofting shots...
Whilst Ashes Cricket is not the best it has some decent points / moments. I gather the same cannot be said for AO Tennis which is getting panned worldwide from all quarters.
I will be thinking long and hard before putting my money down on a Big Ant game.
If you want to get your career player through club cricket more quickly then set the selection criteria to easiest in the options section.
By doing this you will have to play circa one season in English club cricket (for example) before you get picked up by the county side. At this point you...
Generally the centrally contracted England players do not feature very much for the county sides. I prefer the eleven players who feature regularly to be in my sides. Each to their own though - it is easy enough for you to alter the line ups to suit your needs.
I got the career game crash to desktop when trying to play a game in 1600 x 1200 resolution. Swapped to 1920 x 1080 (1080p) and managed to get passed the menu screen that causes the crash.
My problem was that by then having to play in that resolution I thought the graphics looked very poor...
I have tweaked the first class line up for the english counties produced by The SFC Chris and Alex_PH_Smith so that the top order and tail enders are more correct.
Completed the line ups in order to start my career player - as the line ups were previously alphabetical by first name.

PC version on DBC17 had super-fast load times on my PC.
I have buckled and ordered the PS4 version from a local store this morning. I'll be picking it up on the way home from work :)
Couldn't abide reading all the positive comments about the game - felt I was missing out!
I might have to do the same as I did for DBC14. Get it on PS4 now and get it on PC when it comes out. So want to be playing - but hate the PS4 load times in career mode.
Any likelihood of a date for the PC release this weekend?
I am hoping for a 30th November release as it will be just before the 2nd Test starts in Adelaide. Two weeks on from the console release sounds about right. Fingers crossed.
Defend or leave the good length (green) balls. Then try driving the full and yorker length - less chance of an edge and more chance of getting a good contact to beat the close fielders.
If you have not played DBC14 then DBC17 ranks as a must buy. There are still a few glitches (which will surely get fixed) but nothing that seriously hinders offline enjoyment. (I don't play online so cannot comment on that experience.)
If you had DBC14 on PC then you could get away with...
The update (for PC of 28Mb on 24/01/17) has fixed the issues in my career. I am now able to play in an Edgbaston with stands and a crowd (as opposed to none) and in whites for first class matches (as opposed to coloured kits).
Thanks Big Ant.
