Don Bradman Cricket 14 General Discussion

Just letting this out there DBC14 menus + BLIC 2005's soundtrack going on in the background = perfection. They literally go hand-in-hand together.

    DBC14 PC Version 1.14

Tried that before but don't recall a slower delivery. Will attempt it again though.

    DBC14 PC Version 1.14

So um, how do we bowl slower bowls (which was previously on LB) with regular quicks now? Pulling the left stick down seemed to produce no noticeable speed change. Is the key assigned to the one that was used for going around the wicket before the patch?

They did run a single, but nothing out of the ordinary.

It's played back at normal speed, and yes I am running 1.14. The slow motion effect is probably because of the recording though - the framerate has been somewhat cut down.

    BARS on demand

You can look at the Hawkeye for the latest delivery by going into the pause menu, selecting "Big Ant Review System" and then "Big Eye" (which is what Hawkeye is called ingame). No Hotspot on demand as far as I know.

    Advice sought with bowling mechanic

Based on my experience anyway, you have to hold the stick towards the start angle which you want your bowler to run up with and then selecting your length. So pushing it to the right and holding it there would bring the bowler closer to the umpire and pushing it left would make him come in from...

Got two edges in my first career match off right-handed batsmen, but having played about 10 more matches, I've been unable to produce a single one. Like you said it was either a complete miss or a well-connected shot. I swear if all my near-misses actually hit the stumps or edged off the bat I...

Suggestion: Controller mapping and premeditated shots

Why not just have the movement of the left stick alone serve as a leave, rather than having a button or a trigger paired up with it? That way it's both relatively easy to execute (both front-foot and back-foot leaves) and doesn't overwrite any other controls.

Don Bradman CRICKET 14 Batting/Bowling/Fielding Controls (Updated)

Does anyone know what the 'tap back' fielding button is supposed to do? I've searched about it some but I haven't been able to gather any info. Also tried pressing the button a few times in-game, which did nothing.

I've noticed that rotating the RAS upwards (for ball release) instead of just pushing it up creates more swing. It's kinda difficult to explain, but basically after pulling it down you have to sort of twirl it upwards. Though this also means that your chances of bowling a wide are very high, so...

Review: First Impressions of DB14 on PC

Having played my first Career match, I can confirm that I did get a couple of edges, (including one which raced away to deep backward point for four, and one which I almost forgot to appeal for!) but as for AI batsmen reactions I can't suggest much until I get to play a few more matches.

Review: First Impressions of DB14 on PC

So after a couple of match practice sessions I decided to play a casual ODI match on Pro difficulty straight away (with all aids save for picture-in-picture turned off) Needless to say I was thrashed :p But even though I lost in the worst way possible, it was still more fun than any Ashes...

    Cricket Academy Feedback/Suggestions/Bugs Thread

I've generally found the Pro Cam very hard to play with, mainly because of its very high field of view. During my few brief stints with it I always find myself automatically playing a straight drive against Legend-difficulty fast bowling and hope the ball hasn't gone down leg side (because I...

    Cricket Academy Feedback/Suggestions/Bugs Thread

I've noticed that in the latest update that the Pro Cam view, pre-delivery, is lowered significantly before looking back up when the ball pops out. I'm pretty sure in the older builds the camera stayed level and the same goes for Bradman in all other camera modes where his head is completely...
