WI needing a 30 ball Pollard century then. So much for Mendis having lost it too. Have been impressed by him in this tournament. He has ridiculous career T20 figures.

He has ridiculous ODI figures as well. It's only his Test form which seems to have fallen.

Pollard really hasn't found his feet internationally at all.

Personally don't consider him to be too good of a player at international level. He seems like a good domestic player no more.

Pollard is the West Indian Yusuf Pathan, he performs well for all the domestic teams in the various Twenty20 tournaments but fails for his country.

Even in this hit and giggle format the skill gap is more than obvious from International to domestic level.

Yeah agreed. Same goes for Yusuf Pathan. At best, these guys should be played at number 8 in T20 where you need someone to try and slog it out for 2 overs max. Anything other than that and they're out of their league. Yusuf seems a bit better than Pollard though.

o and as it turns out the difference between the teams was Sangakkaras innings. So if it wasnt for that drop by Gayle things might have ended up different.

Also the 30+ runs Jayawardene scored after Fletcher and Hinds had a staring contest.

I've never rated the bloke, as many will have noticed around here :p. He's a flat-track bully with the bat, and bowls barely medium pace pies that are sometimes gifted wickets thanks to dire batting. His domestic figures prove how poor the bowling has been to him. Internationally he is and probably always will be a dud. He's Dwayne Smith with inferior bowling but a more impressive physique, which I think leads people to rate him higher than they should. He'll never be a quality International player.

Don't know where this Jayawardene T20 form has come from but wow, hes been so consistent and scoring at a dam good rate. Sangakkara hasn't been in the greatest of form but this knock will help him. Mendis and Malinga back to forming that dangerous combo.

Mahela! Missed out on another 100. Coulda been his 3rd. (4 if IPL counts). He is so underrated. But this will defo make him popular.

He would have been the first man to get 2 T20I 100s which he thoroughly deserves atm.

Once these Srilankan batsmen get into a good run of form, they are unstoppable. The same thing happened with Dilshan and Sangakkara and look at their performances now (although Sanga still going ok).
