Rob Quiney and Colin de Grandhomme were the only two batsmen to cross double-figures, but they made the most of an unfortunate situation with dual fifties.
Auckland Aces finished with an impressive 171 due to Quiney's 49-ball 66 and de Grandhomme's 49-ball 74. The two added a 122-run stand for the 3rd-wicket.
Alasdair Evans and Gordon Drummond bagged 2 wickets apiece with Drummond being the more economical of the two as Evans conceded 35 runs in his full four.

Lahore lost Ahmed Shehzad on the first ball and were put on the back foot immediately. Mohammad Yousuf and Umar Akmal were dismissed cheaply, shortly afterwards.
At 21/3, Nasir Jamshed lashed out at the Redbacks, scoring 23 runs in a jiffy before ultimately being dismissed. His dismissal coincided with Lahore's collapse.
Abdul Razzaq and Adnan Akmal had a short stay at the crease as well. Lahore were reduced to 44/6. The game was seemingly done and dusted barring any miracle.
While Raza Ali Dar and Wahab Riaz led a counterattack and brought their team back, their valiant efforts were never going to be enough against Redbacks' prowess.
In the end, Lyons' 4-fer and Shaun Tait's excellent 2/19 starred as the Redbacks outplayed the Lions to register a convincing 38-run victory to kickoff their season.
