Thats mad Ravi, can't wait for it!

Do you still think i will need to slow the infield while batting to restrict my run scoring, or will it be ok without it?

For a super bat like you, the infield settings may help you post reasonable scores even though I dont find batting that easy at all. I am just starting to play a test match to confirm everythings fine with this patch. Look in the stories section for the results.

Will wait for your test only patch to continue my match. Till then, it is back to the one-dayers for me.

Ravi, im gonna test the ODI patch without any changes to it and see how i go.

I can decide from there what i need to change.

will report back later, im playing as England vs Pakistan, on a normal pitch.

Do you want the altered one Tim, its just that the CPU was just too good. Unless you trust your field settings and bowling I suggest you use the attached one.

Thanks mate, but i batted first anyway, heres how it went:

I was 3/217 after 30 overs.

I changed the batidealwindowsize to 1.5 and i had !xSpeed on 1.51 but i had the infield speed set as what it originally is in the patch.

Right from the start i was scoring really quickly. It was easy to hit boundaries, i think about 75% of my runs came from them.

The batting was just far too easy for me, i was playing sensibly and still scoring very quickly. I think i will just have to increase the infield speed to make it harder to bat then change it when back when i bowl.

I am changing my schedule in ym tour to play the ODI's first up, so i will be using your patch in those matches. Just check the link in my sig.

Cheers :)

Looking forward to that Test patch Ravi; sounding good mate:) .

It looking very good so far Mike, started a game as WI against the mighty England;) on a wet pitch where the ball doesnt come on to the bat, the slow outfield and the ball keeping low. WI won the crucial toss, put in England in only to see England doing pretty well so far on 22/0 after 10 overs. Tresco and Strauss have so far demonstrated cut shot, sq drive, straight drive, back foot cover drive, traditional cover drive, glance from middle stump pretty much every shot in the book. I had wisely spread the inner field with only 2 slips and a gully in place. CPU is defending the ones on the stumps occassionally playing across the line picking up singles and anything wide on off stump is picked for runs.

One major issue I faced was the left hand batsman leaving balls against a right arm bowler and vice versa. I thought this bug did not exist in Cricket 2004 but unfortunately it still is there. I have had to disable the leaving on or slightly outside off to counter this bug. CPU now rarely leaves a ball on or around off stump but is leaving only the ones wide outside off. Pity I cant get the CPU to judge the ball against a left arm bowler when its batting right. :(

Sounding good mate:cool: . Have you managed to get the elegant, full faced straight drive (you know the one) played in the game?
Yeah, that leaving the ball bug was a major issue in c2k2, one of the main reasons I know for sure that Phil stopped playing it. I've never come across it yet though in c2k4; I too like you thought it had been rectified.

Yes Mike, the elegant straight drive is the one that is being played. Dont ask me how but thats the one;)

Since I last wrote I may have spoken a touch soon with regards to my bowling skills. After 12 overs England were on 26/0 and then I thought this is the time to bring on a spinner. I thought its a dicey pitch and the bounce so low it may go under the bat hence came the bowling changes. Lawson and Banks were introduced and to my surprise they both were picked for runs in particular Banks in the two overs he bowled conceeded 22 runs  Lawson didnt bowl badly but Tresco played couple of great looking shots. Attached is the highlights of the 3 overs when both the batsmen played some awesome strokes all around the wickets. The video is of low quality but still is a good watch from far off screen if you want to watch it full screen.

Stunning batting by the England openers

...

i got couple of questions...

1. how can u change infield speed setting, and how does it effect the batting because I can hit lotta' boudaries easily, should I increase or decrease it and how?

2. And how can i get the bowl to swing or spin more?

plese lemme know?

I am currently playing a World Series with your odi patch where the CPU is too good. I am playing as WI and the first match is against England.

I was able to bat well (surprisingly). See attached images:
