Agreed. Iftikhar has blown his chance. Khushdil is just crap. Asif should stay.

Agreed.

After that tweet, you want that snake in the team? Let alone the fact that he averages like 10 in T20s in Australia, with 10+ innings
Snake is bit harsh. I think he has been good team-man. His performance spoke for itself. Yes, he should have done that tweet and today there were high chances that he would be in the team. Asia Cup conditions perfectly suited him. Regarding the average in Australia, those were long past days. He has worked hard on his fitness and improved his batting a lot. He is probably the best player of the Spin at the moment. Remember, his Six to Rashid Khan in T20 World Cup.

You remember Junaid Khan back in 2019, When he was announced to be the part of World Cup Squad. Aamir was left out. After the England series, they sent Junaid back home and inducted Aamir. Junaid just tweeted having a tape on his lips. Then Junaid is a history.

He hasn’t improved at all against pace, especially on quicker pitches than in Asia. What was his performance in the 2019 World Cup?
Since 2015, when he came back into the team, he averages 24 with a SR of 82 in ODIs in South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia. In T20s in those countries, since 2015 he averages 23.
Asif Ali and Shadab also hit sixes against Rashid.

I agree in terms of pace, but no one plays spin better than him in the national side. Don't compare Asif and Shadab with him. I am not a fanboy of Malik. Have been one of his biggest critics. He has certainly improved a lot on his approach and style post-2019 World Cup. In Asia Cup, after Babar and Rizwan, you had Relu Kattas in the team and you cant win matches with such approach and mindset. You need a solid basis in the middle. Also Australian pitches are not what those used to be. They now also make flat tracks, surely there is bounce in there but Malik position suited for middle overs when Spin in on.

In the WT20 semi-final, Babar made a huge mistake by not sending Malik at number 3. Both Babar and Rizwan slowed down in between and Zaman and Rizwan played dot balls from 8th to 13th over and that made the difference otherwise Pakistan may had 180 or 190. Just sharing an example.

Malik is the biggest "Relu Katta" ever then? It’s only his reputation and PR that keeps him in the mix. He had a decent tournament last year, but he’s just not a fit for the conditions this year, plus that tweet exposes his toxic mindset.
Fakhar out of from, yes. Iftikhar struggles in slow conditions, otherwise he’s a much better fit for Australia than Malik, as a pace hitter. Khushdil needs to go, yes. Asif, Shadab and Nawaz are key pieces.

Yeah, agree, could have sent Malik to hit Zampa and Maxwell.

Again, his record in England disproves that argument in my opinion. England has the deadest tracks in limited overs cricket, in fact they take some spin too, but not much bounce. Still no performance by Malik.
