KL has saved himself by scoring today. Expect him to be quiet for the next 15-20 innings.

By the way, I still don't get the favouritism for him. Why was he keeping when the team has a full-time keeper in the XI? Just ways of keeping KLR in the team.

He’s there because he is the incumbent keeper? There’s no favouritism here at all, he deserves to be in the side.

His last fifty was also a couple of games ago in a relatively low scoring chase when India were four wickets down for 86 before the fifteenth over… people have really short memories sometimes.

I disagree. When you have a superior keeper in the side, he ought to keep and not KLR. Keeper incumbency is a pretty weird concept. KLR isn't better than Kishan or Sanju.

Tbh, today's scenario was perfect for KLR to go and stat pad. Don't expect him to be our savior in the World Cup.

KLR apology form incoming. Full credit to him though. It wasn't an easy pitch to bat on. ODI seems to be a format tailor made for him.

Without taking anything away from Jadeja, I would have gone with Shami for the MoM. But I guess it's fair enough given that Sir had an all round performance today.

I, for one, was happy with the pitch. Took me back to the 1990s where 235-ish was kind of a part score.

I honestly wouldn't mind these sort of pitches for the World Cup. However would definitely want our batsmen to learn how to play on these tracks.

Pressing concern still remains over #4, if Iyer isn't available, SKY doesn't seem to be the viable option.

It’s likely that he may play as a specialist keeper in the middle order (or even as opener) for the one off test after Bharat failed to impress with the bat and gloves. No smoke without fire and all of that.

I think it'd make sense to have him at 5 or 6, for a one-off, where he's played well before.

The troublesome part is that you never know which version of Rahul you get.. however I’m completely not sold on him being the keeper. For one he isn’t that good and his fingers are quite prone to injury.

People are reading too much into KLR based off this one-off performance in an ODI. He is susceptible against the red ball and I'd rather keep him fresh for the ODIs for the rest of the year.

India could do well by giving Kishan a go during the WTC. Provides the same exploits that Rishabh Pant would, under normal circumstances.

To be clear I’m not a fan of selecting him in tests simply because he isn’t gonna work as the keeper and because I’d rather not mess around with player roles and positions for a one off test that holds little significance.
