Australia's test team is so bad for crying out loud. Wouldn't be surprised if Pakistan canter to a series win here. It's vital to have the 4 fast bowlers in prime condition until Smith and Warner come back while hoping the batsmen can get lucky and contribute at a decent level. Don't think I'm exaggerating but this summer has the potential to be one of the Australia's worst ever.
While he deserved dropping.. Handscomb's omission is a blow as he is one of our few specialist players of spin. Having said that, Ussie and Head have improved their spin play. Renshaw said he had been working on his sweep. Agar and Labu looked to have improved also against the turning ball.[DOUBLEPOST=1536840132][/DOUBLEPOST]
Agar open? **Slow death**
Oh no. Agar is a sweet timer of a cricket ball. I have seen him decimate bowling attacks.

I don't know about Fawad Alam but people have been talking about him so I believe he should be recalled into the test side!

Dont you mean Fawad Ahmed.. the Pakaistan born Australian leggie? I have pushed his case for a Test cap so often. Our selectors do not listen. I can not see him ever wearing a Baggy Green cap now that two promising leggies in Swepson and Daniel Fallins are waiting in the wings for when Lyon gives it away.

Fawad Alam And Fawad Ahmed are different people. Alam is a Pakistani batsman.

Yes! Both are from pakistan and underrated. Fawad Ahmed is a limited overs specialist bowler. He is injury prone too. His records for Victoria is really good, but now, Baggie green cap is impossible for him.

Fawad Alam need to follow-up team and coach. Talent is there, but misguided.

Your lack of faith disturbs me.

I have been taking about wasim akram can he be recalled also ? :p

Lol! I think Pakistan need to recall Ajmal or Saqlain Mushtaq for upcoming UAE tour. This Australia team have lots of left hand batsman and pakistan only have Bilal Asif as lone off spinner. Pakistan will miss Hafeez.

Handscomb should've been picked 200%. Even on the dustbowls of India he was Australia's second best batsman and his close range fielding is a huge added bonus too. Another (expected) blunder from the selectors.

Agree. Handscomb made his debut against Pakistan and played very well..Bad luck for him. Selectors could pick him in place of Labu.

Yes his spin play will be missed. But his record is deplorable.. Has made a 50 once in past 11 innings or so. That is untenable. He should have not even been on the Sth African tour. He took the place of someone in superior form. I have been on about Handscomb's dodgy technique even well before he got a Baggy Green. He is a walking wicket.

The more I think about Labu's selection the more I am warming to it. He is a competent player of spin. But he brings far more to the table that mere runs. He bowls very respectable leg spin and is a specialist close in fielder. This series will be the making of him imho.

Gotta say I am bewildered by our CA sports science nongs. Josh Hazlewood.. arguably our finest bowler, will play grade cricket on Saturday. If he is ready for red ball cricket then why the heck is he not up in Brissie preparing to rip into the Paks next month?
