Bats Change??

You mean like Adidas have............

But yeh, would be cool to see full on Nike gear. If they were serious about it the designs would more than likely be awesome. Stupidly expensive, like the Adidas stuff, but awesome looking. Reckon it'll be a long time before we see Nike taking to cricket equipment worldwide.

And how long have Adidas been in the bat business? They would have so much money/power compared to the likes of GM and co.

Adidas have been in the business for about a year now I think, but because of their prices, they're not going to ruin the rest of the market. I'd like to think that the majority of people who play Club Cricket and buy cricket equipment look for performance before the brand, so until Adidas's bats are as good as the top companies and cheaper; the other brands will easily stay in business and still be making very good money.

The only downside to all this branded cricket equipment is that it may introduce chavs to the game. Just a thought.

Haha, all this over a bat? And why do so many people identify Steve Waugh with an MRF bat? He spent 3/4 of his career with a GM.

Because he finished off with an MRF.

Because the MRF (at least prior to Gambhir getting it) was meant for the MOST ELITE batsman of the modern game. Lara-Waugh-Sachin.

Adidas, Reebok... Whats next? Nike cricket bats?

You guys are crazy, what happened to the good ole GM or Duncan Fuernley (spelling?)?

Badrinath, Nayar, and some other cricketers use Nike bats. Couldn't find a good picture of the bat itself, but here are the stickers -

Woops, just realized someone already beat me with better pics. :P

So Elite that some nuffy from New Zealand has one and I'm sure there is an even worse batsman from NSW who has one.

But I'm glad you say it's for the elite since I have one :D

lol those nuffies are the ones with MRF bats that have the bold stickers on it. The elite have the cool and awesome transparent stickers like sachin, lara, waugh and MEEEE(believe it or not)............

I agree with those who are not happy that Sachin is moving out of MRF. Its a sentimental thing for sure. People around the world have watched him toy with bowling attacks with his MRF bat that when he comes out next with his Adidas Bat (whats with that front sticker), it wont be the same anymore and people will not get the same feeling that they had before.

But if the bat is good, people will get used to it soon. I hate that front sticker. Its ugly.

Sachin and his MRF Bat go along together....

Eager to watch how his Adidas bat will work for him.

The reason he has that front sticker is because I think that he doesnt want to associate himself a particular version of the bat. He just wants to be associated with adidas the brand in general.

Nike are due to launch cricket equipment in the UK for 2010.

WHAT? Sachin will now have a different sticker on his bat?

Noooooo!

Seriously though, big deal. The bat will still be the same, it will just have a new sticker on it.

Why are people worrying about Sachin and his bat? Adidas are just his sponsor, his bat(s) will be the same bat(s) he used with MRF just with different stickers on them.

The bats that Internationals use will be made specifically for them, by well-known bat-makers, not by the company themselves.

I chop and change stickers on my bats all the time when I'm playing, its like a hobby.
