Allen started with a bang for them, and Burns supported him well. Fantastic job by Cummins to get two top order wickets, and he was well supported by the others. The less said about the batting, the better. Root was the only positive, and Renshaw was decent too. Needed a lot better from the rest.

Nothing to take away from bowlers as the pitch was a flat deck. Starc on this pitch was just amazing. Short was thrashed like anything but it is bound to happen on these pitches. Shadab bowled with discipline and in the right areas.

Batting openers were a treat to watch. It was absolute carnage. And what a trump card did Pollard prove to be.

Shadab and Pollard did exactly what they were brought in for in this match.

@mohsin7827 I think we have built an all round squad with no shaky corners.

Yes indeed. Everyone grabbing their chances.
Finally Short comes good after couple of miss matches.
Rightly said it was treat to watch them both and Pollard was on song.

After looking at the scorecard for the first innings, I was certain we'd lose but credit to our bowlers. @TSPrathik, players like Lynn, Williamson, Smith and Taylor not firing is quite worrying, wouldn't you say? o.O

Yeahh we covered the loss of last round

can't really talk about Lynn's batting, we played our 3 matches in slow pitches. Yes, he was dismissed for low scores in all 3 matches, I guess his performance when we get a flat-track will give us a full clarity about him
But, Smith's performance is a concern. since these three matches are bowling friendly tracks, we thought both Smith and Williamson get to face lot of balls, since they are very much fond of these tracks and eventually take us
to a good position where the finishers can take up their role.

Williamson is going good for us, but not at his best, his partnership with Taylor in both the matches we won were very crucial.

Taylor has been our best batter in these 3 games with 2 fifties

Bowlers have been brilliant, rather than the first two games, having to defend 192 runs in 300 balls, they were spot-on with their plans.
Every bowler in the line-up is contributing, that's a very big sign for us. 30/30 in 3 games. Looking forward for next games

Poor bowling! 355 should have never been chased with such ease. Batting should've been better too.

Williamson is going good for us, but not at his best, his partnership with Taylor in both the matches we won were very crucial.

True, but...

Taylor has been our best batter in these 3 games with 2 fifties

...relative terms mate. Those were some hard-fought fifties, but a fifty is always going to look like a hundred when no one around him is even achieving half of that.

Finally a match that I actually feel like posting my thoughts on!
Very pleased with Finn Allen- I brought him in for a better, faster start and he provided just that. Also happy with the bowlers- they all either took wickets or kept the runs down. I am still not entirely happy with the batting order as a whole, but that's a job for net game. Onwards and upwards!

Dusty - Plenty of turn on offer for spinners. Good pace bowlers are still likely to thrive...
Dry - Ideal conditions for batting. Good deal of turn on offer for spinners as well. Could go either way...
Even - Provides an evenly balanced contest for all disciplines...
Flat - A batsman-friendly pitch which provides little or no assistance to bowlers...
Hard - Good conditions for batting. Good deal of bounce & swing on offer for fast bowlers as well. Could go either way...
