A cult hero for his batting, New Zealand's third highest wicket taker in Tests has announced his retirement. Only behind Hadlee and Vettori and one of only four New Zealand's to have taken over 200 Test wickets:

1. Sir Richard Hadlee - 431
2. Daniel Vettori - 359
3. Chris Martin - 233
4. Chris Cairns - 218
5. Danny Morrison - 160

From all reports he's just been a good team guy, so I'm sure he'll be missed both on and off the field. The timing's probably right as well, when you consider that an attack of Southee, Boult, and Bracewell have the potential to develop into one of the best in the world.

He was a very good Test bowler and all but most cricket fans will remember him for his prolific duck scoring record. :p

Great chap he was. He had the mentality of a 150KPH tear away quick. Loved the spring in his action.
