MIFSUD GIVEN COLD SHOULDER​

Coventry striker Michael Mifsud's Coventry career may be at an end.

The Maltese International has one year left on his contract, however manager Craig Tough has stated that he only wants players that want to play for Coventry in the team.

Tough, the new manager at Coventry has said that Mifsud has the wrong attitude for the way he runs the team, and that Mifsud showed no willing whatsoever to fight for his place in the Coventry side, and has handed in an 'unofficial transfer request'.

Fans are said to be disappointed, however they have expressed their full backing of manager Craig Tough's decision, as they also believe only players who are passionate about the club should put on the Sky Blue shirt.

This news has accelerated speculation over Tough's plans to make a move for Portsmouth striker David Nugent, however Tough has since rubbished claims he is a huge fan of the former Preston striker, and has said the last person he wants to buy is another striker.

@ Sweep: Mifsud hasn't gone, as Bristol City pulled the plug on their deal with Mifsud (in real life) and Norwich and Palace have denied any interest (in real life) and Chris COleman has said Mifsud won't be in his plans ever again (in real life). So I don't like him anymore, as he doesn't want to play for Coventry. Some players think that they are the star player of the team, go 19 games without a goal, 2 other class strikers come and they can't handle the challenge of a fight for their place in the side.

GUNNARSSON OUT TO IMPRESS​

New Coventry midfielder Aron Einar Gunnarsson says he is out to impress new manager Craig Tough in the pre-season.

The 19 year old Icelandic international says his talent was unappreciated last season with Dutch club AZ Alkmaar, and says that he is ready for regular first team football.

Gunnarsson actually made his Iceland debut, 8 days before his AZ Alkmaar debut, and he knows that he can perform on the big stage.

Gunnarsson made a few appearances for the Iceland U21s too, including a 5-1 defeat to new home country, England, a game in which he got himself on the scoresheet.

Gunnarsson is said to already be a hit with the Sky Blues faithful, and the fans just can't wait to see this Icelandic wonderkid in action.
