After doing the nets challenge on Cricket 22, I went back to Cricket 19 for the nets training and here is what I could observe:
1. Cricket 19 felt super fluid as well (Batting)
2. Shots connect better in cricket 22 as against Cricket 19
3. The finished game on cricket 19 is very detailed on graphics (PS4 Pro) and Cricket 22 has a lot of ground to cover - this looks concerning & I could only HOPE that BA would be able to pull this off perfectly
4. The head size in cricket 19 is bigger than the body :lol:lol

More to follow....

Tried out nets on PS4 and am hoping the final build at release time is an improvement. The graphics aren't sharp and there's a bit of stuttering, which I didn't come across in Cricket 19. From gameplay perspective, batting is pretty similar to Cricket 19, which is not a bad thing. As long as flicks to fine leg region are fixed, which we can't tell in nets, batting side of things should be good.

It's the fielding (including byes & overthrows), and especially the field sets, which were a major bugbear in Cricket 19. If Cricket 22 can nail the AI field sets, it would be a huge step up from earlier iterations. Don't want to see barely 2-3 fielders outside the 30 yard circle after power plays in shorter formats, or field changing randomly every ball in Tests.
This + a variety of catching/outfield dismissals is really what I would like to see as fundamental improvements. Fielding has to be a huge upgrade on cricket 19.

It's definitely a big improvement from cricket 19 and it's much effective from the looks of it, but the animation happens suddenly and not as smooth as DBC 14 or even Cricket 07.

PS4 User: Nets First Impression

So I was greeted with the fuzz that everyone’s talking about. Initially, this seemed to be in the areas where the sun was shining through the windows. It wasn’t fuzzy in the shadows. In fact, it was extremely clear! Over the course of a few minutes, it seemed to mostly be gone but then did present itself again. Not as bad but in more areas. I couldn’t be certain if this all related to what the weather was doing.

The ball marker was also fuzzy which I found unsatisfying when striking the ball. The ball also just disappears after batsman/before screen. I mean it vanishes. I suppose this is just in the nets so fine.

Batting seemed good. Settled on Hard/Good (4/5) across the board. Some nice shots, played a pull far better than anything on Cricket 19. Ball pinged off bat on occasions. Forward defensive off a spinner seemed less likely to pop up off boot to close catcher (Famous last words!).

Bowling: I settled for Standard (Legacy) which seemed to be what I was doing on Cricket 19. But if Pro is Classic, I would’ve thought that you would associate the word legacy with the original controls? I’m not desperate to go back to twirling the button to get revs on the ball!

Aftertouch seemed to overide what I was trying to bowl. Get it even subtly wrong and the balls going the wrong way. I managed to get the ball going where I wanted though. I saw a video of someone struggling to get away swing but it seemed fine on mine. If anything, in swing seemed less pronounced.

I loved catching edges on Cricket 19 so hope the catching in C22 isn’t anything less enjoyable. I also don’t feel the need for far more outfield catches in Tests like some people keep asking for. Proportion has always seemed fair to me and correctly differs in shorter formats.

Yes things were fuzzy to begin with. No stuttering but fuzz. History of both this game/life tells me that fixing something can break something. Hopefully there’s no fuzz when the full game is out.

After what I’d read, I was expecting a stuttering fuzzball of a game (And the need to buy a PS5!). I’m enthused by what I’ve seen.

I got my code from Jeff Bezos’ well run little South American rainforest business, if that information is important to anyone!

Please note, I am not a hardcore gamer. The preview you see does not resemble the final product. The game was played on iPad via Xbox Series S Streaming so quality will be low.
