Well herein we have a section for
"Past Tours and Events "

Why can't we close off this section completely.
I don't think anyone would be logging into these forums 2 months after the tour ends.

I disagree. I still like to go back and read what people were saying ahead of the 'England in Pakistan' tour.

Well thats just one tour we are talking about cause there was a lot of controversy there.
However,other tour thread can be deleted
Say something like " Zimbabwe in South Africa "
I doubt anyone would be interested in commenting upon that though.

There's no need to close it, its an archive of old threads. Just because it is there nobody is forcing you to post there (or even look there).

Its function is to keep the Future and Current subforums from becoming cluttered up with old threads.

Exactly. If you don't want to look at the old threads, don't look at them. Plus it's handy to have them there if anything comes up after the tours conclusion. For example, it could be found out later that someone failed a drugs test in one of the matches, one of the matches was fixed, etc.

Well call me sad, but when I first joined this site last year I decided to take a look in the 'England in South Africa' thread. Now during the time that this series was shown I was unfortunate enough to have a problem with Sky so I had to rely on Cricinfo and the Guardian a lot, so a few months back I thought i'd look through that thread to get a closer look to how England played and how people reacted etc.

Now call that a stupid reason if you must but I just think that they should be kept there for sentimental value.

Especially something like the Ashes thread, whenever I get really bored I'd like to go and have a look in there.
