Mark Wood only has the best average and best strike rate of all of England's bowlers in the last three years in T20is (bowled in 10 innings).
Picking the others I prefer the side balance. Woakes hasn’t had many chances either and I consider him a better bowler than Wood and he can bat better. Woakes, SCurran, Archer, Stokes all have IPL experience too and are a nice balanced attack. Wood doesn’t have IPL experience (1 match). If you like Wood that’s your call (he’s a good bowler) I just prefer the team without him (If Archer and Stokes are fully fit).

The real question is what number are they wanting to bat him? 6? If you play Ali, Stokes and Woakes (Which in my opinion they should in home tests) then there isn't really room for Bairstow unless one of the top 3 gets dropped to make way and I don't think Bairstow is good enough to bat above 7 in Test Cricket (and Buttler has 7 locked up).

If Stokes' finger is still in bits and Pope is out injured, I could see Lawrence, Buttler, Bairstow (wk) at 5-6-7. It'd be wrong but I still see it

Buttler is butterfingers without the gloves and decent with them. If Buttler plays he has to keep considering Bairstow is a great fielder. If you want to bat Bairstow 7 fine, but as a specialist batsman with Buttler above him. Alternatively Bairstow bats 6 without the gloves and Buttler 7. Not convinced they should be in the same side, very difficult to make it work when Buttler should be keeping. If Buttler is vice captain then it could work batting him 6 as keeper (Bairstow specialist batsman at 7 in this case). It feels wrong to bat him above Bairstow (not keeping) otherwise.

I guess the answer to this is something that even the English selectors wouldn't know. The constant chopping/changing of the teams (blame the rotation policy) doesn't give a fair idea of the batting positions/ lineups and this may prove to be a problem for England in the future.

Agreeably the rotation policay must be enforced, but I fear the English aren't allowing for any leeway in this.

It would free England up in Test Cricket selection wise (and free up Root's batting) if they reverted to Morgan as captain and batted him at 6. This would also make way for Hales to return to the T20I side at 3 in place of Malan, with Buttler becoming T20I captain making Morgan droppable in the format. I'm not holding my breath though.

Moeen Ali should be in the team for the India tests. One guess for why he isn't. The England selectors are incapable of picking players for a game of cricket. The players just want to play cricket not be controlled by politicians.

I thought you were talking about the batter and seeing the thumbnail I was like what twist is there. The video isn't available my location though so I will keep believing that he somehow played the ball after it touched the stumps
