No more dirtier than people holding off on posting their pick for a particular round, so they have the last pick, and therefore a double-pick :shrug
Well that involves a risk of losing the player you had picked. What you did was meant to deceive others which is both dishonest and unfair! You've already set your bar higher than this mate. We expect better things from you. :yes

I kind of wanted to squeeze someone from an obscure nation into our team, but the thought of reuniting Chadaranga and THICCshana is too powerful

@VC the slogger it's been a while - please be so kind to give a breakdown on your squad distribution (break in top-middle order etc.) and what it means. Also :wk: > :wkb: ?

Do you penalize players batting out of their normal batting position or do you allow leeway if they on occasion bat in another position?

Hasn't it?! The players are sorted this way:

Openers (1-2)
Top-order (3-4/emergency openers)
Middle-order (4-6)
Lower-order (7-8)
Tailend pace (9-11)
Tailend spin (9-11)

:wk: means a better or slightly more regular gloveman, :wkb: is either a part-time keeper or the second/third choice in a squad full of keepers, and :arwk: is a bit of the latter who can also roll his arm over in the odd match.

Not exactly; it's more to do with their playing styles most of the time. Trouble only starts when you do something far more drastic like send a solid opener down at no 6/7 or such which is game isn't ideally suited to, so he's likely to not do too well there. Likewise for a specialist hitter at 7 or such who if sent up might club a six or two and get out, coz he doesn't really know how to play the waiting game.

Lineup rules

1) A minimum of 6 locals/home-qualified players* (:local:). The remainder of the lineup may consist of any players of a manager's own choosing, including English (:pst:) and overseas players (:os:).
2) A proper wicket-keeper (:wk:/:wkb:/:arwk:) in your XI.
3) A minimum of 6 players marked to bowl.
4) Players ruled out due to injury or declared unavailable for whatever reason cannot be selected.
5) The time limit for posting lineups is 48 hours. I will likely go with a random lineup if your lineup isn't posted within that time.
6) A minimum of 15 players of your squad of 18 must get a game over the course of the tournament.

Standings

Later.

Statistics

Later.

Explanation on pitch types

:bwl::down: Damp/Sticky - Massively in favor of bowlers and an absolute nightmare to bat on, unless you're Victor Trumper.
:left::right: Dusty - Plenty of turn on offer for spinners and a good place to bat for spin-savvy batsmen. Good pace bowlers are still likely to thrive.
:ar::up: Evenly balanced - Provides an evenly balanced contest for all disciplines.
:bat::left: Flat - A batsman-friendly pitch which provides little or no assistance to bowlers. Expect big totals.
:bwl::up: Green - A lot of movement on offer early on, which makes it ideal for bowlers capable of swinging the ball. Batting expected to become easier as the match progresses.
:ar::left: Hard - Ideal conditions for batting. Good deal of bounce on offer for fast bowlers as well. Could go either way
:right::left: Dry/Slow - Ideal for slow and spin bowlers as the name suggests. Sometimes quite difficult to bat on.
:down: Poor - Uneven bounce and a huge amount of turn on offer for spinners. Expect a slow hard grind where most batsmen rarely score at above 3 an over.
