With all the respect in the world to my Indian brothers on PC, the inferiority complex of most Indian fans on social media is stunning. Always bragging about how rich the BCCI is and how good they are at bullying the smaller boards.
Spare me responses about my nationality, because i'd say the same thing if i was from Zimbabwe or Australia.
I agree with you, man. Some fans are truly shitheads. Thats why, The only place where I discuss cricket nowadays, is PC and among my friend cricle in my school.

I think it is common amongst the sub-continent fans which doesn't include India alone. Most of them lack respect for each other's nation and they don't take up any constructive criticism for their side. And things go ugly when they choose the way of hurling out personal abuses for no reason and making fun of each other's nation.

Amen brother ! I totally agree with you. This was my exact feeling, after reading all the defensive comments from Salty Indian fans on Facebook when Australia was revealed as the number 1 Test team in April 2020. Also it doesn't help when Pakistani Fans fight with outdated facts and fantasied comments about Babar . I admit Babar is a good player but Pakistani's need to understand Babar is kinda weak outside the UAE and Pakistan.

I think it is a bit too early to tell that whether Azam struggles outside Asia or not. I think he has looked to be the best batsman Pakistan have produced in more than a decades period.

He had a very good CWC19 in England and was easily our best batsman in the Aus test series from what I can think of off the top of my head; two of the toughest places to play. He may have struggled initially but it's only fair to judge him off his performances since CWC19; he has become a different animal since then.

Totally agree that Babar is the best batsman in the team . Correct my bad , It's to early to judge , we need to see Babar play in South Africa , New Zealand and England. However , what I failed to state explicitly was the expert opinions of Pakistani fans especially on Facebook Cricket groups and posts portraying Babar in the same Superstar level as Virat , Steve Smith and Ben Stokes. If you disagree with them based on the facts , they then abuse you and make it personal which was the issue raised by Nilay.

I agree. He isn’t on the Kohli/Smith/Williamson level yet but I don’t see why he won’t be in the next 1-2 years if he keeps performing at this rate.

This is quite accurate if I'm being completely honest. It's not just Indian fans, but fans in the subcontinent in general. As an avid Cricket player and keen learner of the game, I can quite confidently say that people from the subcontinent tend to speak more from their emotions than pure logic, and that becomes bad and even abusive sometimes. I am an Indian myself, and even though I am very emotional about Indian Cricket, it is actually quite sad to see the kind of comments out there on social media pages. I choose to communicate and talk Cricket with very few people, those who I know are unbiased and knowledgable enough. Hopefully, PC works out in that sense.

Completely agree with this. Try telling a die-hard Kohli fan that Steve Smith may be better than him in Test matches, and what you will get in return are personal insults instead of a constructive discussion.

P.S Just an example, I am unable to make my mind when it comes to Kohli and Smith in Test Matches, specifically. I feel Kohli is a much better White ball batsman though.

I totally agree with you on this. Babar Azam is Pakistan's best right now, and I really hope the captaincy role doesn't burden him or put him down at all. I have a gut feel though that he will continue to do well, even abroad, because he has a compact technique. He did score runs in CWC19 as well as the recent Australia tour. However, I cannot say if he will reach the level of a Kohli or a Smith. That is some serious ground to cover, still. Being an Indian, I remember being very nervous when Babar and Hafeez were smashing us for a brief period in the match in CWC19. Also, while we're on the topic of the best batsmen in a particular team, how good is Shai Hope? Would you say he is the best West Indies have right now? I certainly find him to be the glue in a team of big (Read:huge) hitters, a bit like Joe Root for England.

I came to PC when i got tired of people being unable to discuss cricket in a civil way on social media. Everyone here is a sensible person, i think you’ll feel comfortable here.

Shai Hope has potential, his determinate but the issue is the West Indies Cricket Board. They need to restructure how cricket operates in the West Indies to make the Windies a dominant force in ODI and Test Cricket again. Politics within the Caribbean boards is an issue (Sarwan v Gayle , etc) . Additionally, To me, cricketers from the Caribbean are too focused on obtaining IPL rather than the ambitions to play Test cricket. West Indies cricket from a business perspective needs to generate revenue through potentially diversifying geographically to the US Market and the Hispanic nations in the Caribbean after COVID. Its good to see that they've been playing games in Florida. With more money, hopefully, they can attract talent and develop grassroots cricket.

Hope , Hetmeyer and Pooran are 3 stars in the making. All of them have shown some serious talent. My guess is that they will carry the West Indian batting for a long time.
