I think it might be because ICC and Cricket Australia want tickets revenue whereas BCCI can afford hosting IPL only on advertising
The same reason can be for Euro 2020 getting cancelled but premier leagues have continued without fans

In addition, it is one thing for a domestic league to function with some overseas players. An international tournament would require the permission of multiple governments, sporting bodies, different players, media people, staff etc and very possibly would require a lot more co-operation from a large group of individuals which means that the risk is higher.

You wouldn't want to base any pandemic decision of your country based on what the USA does though. :p
True, but you can base it on the NBA's professional handling of the crisis, in contrast to Trump.

Haven't followed it much, but i thought NBA was gonna take place as Disney Land or World (although both Florida and California have continued wide-ranging outbreaks) in isolation/bubble similar to the cricket in England. But I thought i saw the players standing against this as the NBA was doing very little in way of monitoring and prevention like the ECB have done.

Australia is having increased cases right now, some places in lockdown. I don't think the ICC want the World T20 in empty stadiums, which is still quite possible.

Watching some highlights . And concluded that Sachin (as an opener) was tailor-made for ODI . Sourav Ganguly was an excellent driver of the cricket ball .....

Venkatesh Prasad was a smart bowler with variations & bowled effective cutters ...

I believe Javagal Srinath was by far India's best fast bowlers in white ball Cricket. He was quick and accurate and had the knack to pick up early wickets. Currently, I think Bumrah is well on course to get there. I believe Shami is equally good but has underperformed at times maybe because of lack of experience he had previously. Bhuvi I believe has the best variations but hasn't been used well as a wicket taker and his recent injuries and the drop in form and confidence have done no good to him.

Zaheer probably was one of the most unsung pace bowler in World Cricket.

There's no doubt . He had pace + swung the ball . How tough time he would have had in bowling wides full one over , for Kumble to get 10-wickets in an innings .....

Kapil Dev , Javagal Srinath & Zaheer Khan should be the top bowlers era-wise .

And overall >> Srinath , Zaheer , then Kapil Dev .......

Stats don't say everything . Ajit Agarkar has the best average but from what I saw , he was just hit the deck bowler ....

Bhuvi has 35-odd average but he is smart & economical ..

A gorgeous, very underrated innings from a gorgeous, very underrated batsman. Against McGrath, Gillespie, Kasprowicz and Warne, at the MCG too.

Some interesting stuff here from players survey.

FICA report: 76% of men's players surveyed are against four-day Tests | ESPNcricinfo.com

Big support for test cricket all round.
Majority against four-day tests.
Big support for Indian players to play other T20 leagues. Although they weren't part of the survey.
Big support for promotion and relegation in test cricket (I imagine at least 9 boards are against that).

There definitely is interest among Indian players to play other leagues if you check Raina's recent comments. At the moment you would have to 'retire' from all forms of cricket in India and obtain a 'No Objection Certificate' to play in an overseas league like Sehwag and Yuvraj or get banned from Indian cricket because you played in them without permission like Tambe who is now heading to the West Indies for the CPL. I certainly would not mind those without central contracts appearing in overseas leagues especially when they're not good enough or interested in first-class cricket too as long as they do play the domestic league in India too ensuring that their experience gets shared at least.

If I had to place a bet on the first Indian cricketer to play in the IPL and also an overseas league in the same year, it would have to be Raina. He is still good enough that franchises would want him, he is a marketable player with interest in playing abroad and hasn't played a non-T20 game in nearly two years now and Uttar Pradesh have a strong enough side that they don't need him in Ranji Trophy either. There are questions over whether what BCCI is doing is legal in terms of workplace freedom and laws but in the end as long as they pay a decent amount to currently active players and a pension to retired players there will not be a lot of resistance to what they preach especially in a traditional country like India.
