Alastair Cook played until the age of 44. He average in the mid fifties for the most of his career but at the end he got really bad and I couldn't bring myself to drop him.

Will put a screen up tonight, but by the end of his career, James Taylor will become the best ever test player, batsman and bowler!!!

Has 40 hundreds now, more than 12,000 test runs at a batting average of 58, and has made two triple-hundreds, HS 316.

Add to that closing in on 600 test wickets, many 5 wicket hauls, at an average of 28-29.

All this....and he is only 31 years of age!!!!

If he plays until 42, he should break 20,000 test runs and 1,000 test wickets. An all-round record that will never be beaten

As for Alistair Cook, I retired him at 14,000 test runs, batting ave of 54 I think.
