This sudden revisionism over England’s inability to bat is a bit strange. They’re the number one ranked team in ODIs for a reason, which is why they’re called the best team in the world....? Their only issue is the occasional collapse which is a result of their high risk, high reward game plan.

I read a post where someone said that England is the best team in the world in the entire ODI Cricket history. That is what I was referring to. Do you agree to it? I definitely don't.

Edit: India's performance in Overseas has been better as compared to England in last 3 years. They aren't much behind than England. If India had lost 5 matches lesser as compared to the ones they have lost, they would've been the no.1 side. It is also about time. They only lost those matches where they had chance to become no.1 team in the world. And as far as I remember India became no.1 team after beating South Africa in South Africa 5-1 and they only lost it due to annual update back in 2018 that too not because of recent losses but the series they lost way back in 2016 to Australia 4-1

Dwayne bravo is selected as one of the 10 reserves for world cup for windies. What the? He was retired from 2018.

The man wouldn’t even be able to bowl 10 overs at a decent pace. On the flat decks of England, his slower balls would be absolutely murdered! Selecting Pollard as another reserve seems like another strange move.

Haha absolutely not, especially with that bowling. They’ve gotta win a trophy to be in consideration for that :p

But their batting lineup alone? I could see an argument for them being considered among one of the best in history largely due to the way they’ve changed the modern approach to batting in the middle overs. Still believe that they need to win this Cup to be in consideration IMO, but I can see why someone would argue for them being considered amongst one of the best batting lineups in history.

Wahab Riaz? Are you joking me? :facepalm
And how is Hasnain in this team? Junaid Khan is a thousand times better than him.

I don’t mind seeing Riaz being selected. His recent domestic performances have been very good and merit selection, plus he’s a wicket taking option which might prove handy...

...but he should have replaced Hasnain instead of Junaid, given that Hasnain is another pacy, inaccurate bowler who leaks runs. Junaid’s experience would have also been quite invaluable.

Wonder why Shinwari hasn’t been in the discussion, he’s been impressive whenever I’ve seen him play.

He had a poor Asia Cup and hasn't been with the team for majority of series that Pakistan played after that. He did bowl well against Australia thought. I guess he got 4 wickets in one of the matches he played

Yikes, that certainly doesn’t look good at all.

There is more to life than our daily jobs and sport. Condolences to Asif Ali and his family. I feel absolutely distraught for him. If there is a lord above, then this is not fair.

How sad! And he played yesterday after hearing the news.

He is heading to the US to meet his family - before joining the squad again at the end of the month. What a strong character!!
